CHAPTER 1
My Love! There’s a Place 4 Us
My Love: lion on lioness; precept on perception; let me know if you can see my reflection! My Baby*star: the last time I spoke with you & the readers was on April 27th, 2010. A few months has past since I ended The Lion Codes III; so what do you say; we all do a little catching up on things; and see what has been going on since then. My Sunburst: first of all; on May the 2nd; or somewhere around that time; Nashville, Tennessee got a lot of unexpected rain; causing a flood in this city. Anyways! From talking to my friends Roy Richardson & Ben Nelson on the phone; while I was in Roanoke, Virginia; they of course; caught me up on that; plus lots more! My Pink Hyacinth: I can’t believe Brad Paisley has got a cool new song out now called
Water. Anyways! I am not going to go into great detail right now on what all I’ve got to do and see while I was back home. We’ll just save some of it for later; but I will tell you a little about July. My Uncle Wesley Perdue came and picked me up from Roanoke, Virginia on June the 29th; and I stayed at his home until July the 14th. My You’ll Never Know: on July the 15th; I arrived in Nash*Vegas, Tennessee @ 2:30 a.m. As soon as I got off of the Greyhound Bus; I headed down to Broadway! Nashville has changed a little bit since I was here last; and so have I. Anyways! The Greyhound has relocated; and is no longer where they were. A lot of the area is being used to build the new
Convention Center right beside the
Bridgestone Arena; which is what used to be called the
Sommet Center. My Orange Blossom Special: as soon as I got to
Legends Corner" on Broadway; it seemed like everyone that I had met before was there to greet me! It has been officially seven months since I had been here. Anyways! I showed them all the three novels I had got published through Xlibris.com. They were all impressed; and were saying all kinds of nice things!
My Love: incase you are wondering about my rather simple introduction; I’m just giving you; as well as the readers a break! I thought it would be kind of humorous; to show you what I see every time on the computer screen at a public library. Anyways! It would probably be a good time to share my gratitude; and thanks to all these public libraries that have aloud me to write out my dreams on their resources! Anyways! My Baby*star: I can’t tell you just how good it feels to be in Nashville. Today is Saturday July the 17th, 2010. I have now been here three days! My Beautiful & Understanding Lady: tomorrow would have been my dad’s 55th Happy Birthday! I knew the Nashville Public Library wouldn’t be open tomorrow; so I started on it today in honor of my father! Also, since I always pick a number before I even begin writing one of these books; I have decided to place 76 chapters in this book. How did I come to this revelation! Well; even though I don’t know what my dad’s favorite number actually was; I do know when he played high school football at Floyd County; he wore the number 76. Now, for how I plan to break all of this down to make it an easy read. There will be four parts in this fourth novel; meaning there will be 19 chapters in each section. There will also be four new codes! Anyways! My Love Story: we just as well talk about July the 10th; my Carrie*bear. This is the day your free-will chose to get married to Mr. Mike Fisher! Congrats to the both of you! I’m sure you are saying! How can he be happy for me! The answer to that simple question is this! Big Country stays happy! Plus I love that good ole Tim McGraw
song way too much called Just to see you smile
. My Love Story: btw! you’re not the only one who has been to Georgia. I spent three days down in Atlanta doing some vacationing after I got finished with the third novel. Anyways! I was going to get started writing the fourth book down there; but for some reason or another! I decided not too! My Pink Hyacinth: after I returned from Atlanta; God had really done something special to humble me even more than I already am; because now I can say this; I probably will never have my dear mother crying ever again! Why is this? I just stopped trying to explain everything to her; and turned it over to God. In a way; the pressure is now lifted off of me; and for that I am thankful! Besides; she’s got these books to read; and this will help her to understand me more than anything! And if she still doesn’t! Well, that’s on her! I just know; I’m going to be good to my mom; and love her! Anyways! Fred Bowyer; mom’s husband; came up to Roanoke to apologize; and to take me and mom out to dinner; to show there were no hard feelings! It kind of reminded me of that Days of Thunder movie when Cole Trickle and Rowdy Burns couldn’t get a long! Anyways! They asked me where I wanted to eat; and of course I said Ernie’s Restaurant; downtown Roanoke, Virginia. Everything was so peaceful; Fred and Mom decided to go a little bit further to help me accomplish my dreams! They sent Xlibris another $1,400 to start my Ingram’s Return-ability package. This is a program that allows for book stores to go online and search for books they wish to place in their stores. Kam Aries had told me the work you have done writing is great; now the real work starts; promoting your books; to get them out in stores. While these books are self-published; and it feels great to have these novels selling online. The real goal now is to also have them available in the book stores across America; and the rest of the world. Anyways! Some of the information wasn’t correct on what I had said in the third novel; so let me take a minute to clear that up briefly. The Lion Codes sells for $19.99; and I get $5.00. The Lion Codes II sells for $24.99; and I get $6.25. The Lion Codes III sells for $19.99 and I get $5.00. In a nut shell; this is the royalties that Xlibris has signed; and promised to me! Since this is a lion codes series; I will give this secret away. There will be seven books all together; that I will be writing! After all; seven is a complete number! It just wouldn’t make since to write a love story for all of y’all that was incomplete; now would it lol!
My Sunburst: now to really let the cat out of the bag; Kara Spangler; or any other lady that has been mentioned in these novels; are real; but my whole idea was to see how jealous I could get you to be for me! Also; I knew deep inside my heart; these books were not going to reach you in time before you tied the knot with Mike Fisher; but whose to say that the fire I’m receiving from heaven; won’t burn that up; once time does reach you here on earth; as you read more; and more into these novels. Since my dad’s birthday is tomorrow! I figured he would get a kick out of this! Dad always loved singing; and bending guitar strings; as far back as I can remember. This song I’m getting ready to tell you about; was my favorite song to hear him sing! Why you may ask? Even though dad was serious when he would play and sing it; it just made me smile until I cried. I was just a child; so for one; I didn’t know anything about marriage! Two; I thought to myself; why would a guy be telling this woman he knows; she’s married; but he loved her still; in a song lyric! Well; now that I’m older; and have grown into a young man of thirty; this song makes all the since in the world to me; Mr. Whispering Bill Anderson! I’m still in love with Carrie Marie Underwood; because I still believe with my measure of faith; she is my only one; true and perfect; soul*mate. My Love Story: just for you Carrie; and the readers should know! I have many riddles that are clues to secrets left for all of you. Here’s another one! I prayed one time to God; that I hoped my soul*mate was someone who had once been married before; even though I hadn’t! Why would King Arthur James David Solomon Phillips do something of this nature! I figured she could bring so much more to the relationship this way! Believe it or not! This is one time I’m going to tell you the honest to goodness truth! Not only am I scared to fall in love; marriage is not something to be taken lightly; nor do I want to learn it the hard way! I think I’ve learned enough lessons the hard way through life; and this is just one thing I do not care to learn the hard way! My Love Story: will you one day be my princess that turned into my loving beautiful & understanding queen?
I know you’re
married Carrie but I
love you still
The day I met you I knew you weren’t free
But I knew I’d love you through eternity
And though I knew you were another’s bride
I vowed my heart would never leave your side
You know I love you and I always will
I know you’re married but I love you still
I never would have made that sacred vow if I had only know what I know now
There’s room for only you inside my heart so close together yet so far apart
You know I love you and I always will I know you’re married but I love you still
I know you’re married but I love you still
Dixie Stampede
Written by: Caring Sharon & James Phillips
I don’t feel the same way you feel
And it wasn’t at all; because it wasn’t real
So forget we ever tried our hand at fate
To look upon what was then; isn’t now
Whatever you’re thinking you have to say
Save it baby; because you’re a little too late
The dust has been flyin’
Since the first day I met-cha
Never knew your sweet innocence
Could cause this much trouble
So sad; ’cause I was addicted to your love
Tic-tock; we ran out of seconds on the clock
Still you’re like a Dixie Stampede
You know how to make a girl’s heartbeat
When you look into my eyes; what do you see?
Do you really see me or the person I’m faking to be?
Some days I hate your smile
Other days it drives me wild
What can I say; your honesty is a charm
A turn on of yours that gets me heated every time
The dust has been flyin’
Since the first day I met-cha
Never knew your sweet innocence
Could cause this much trouble
So sad; ’cause I was addicted to your love
Tic-tock; we ran out of seconds on the clock
Still you’re like a Dixie Stampede
You know how to make a girl’s heartbeat
Faster than the speed of light
You can hear the soft sound of a lady’s heart
You understand me more than most
And who knows
You could be just as scared as I am
Afraid to fall in love
The dust has been flyin’
Since the first day I met-cha
Never knew your sweet innocence
Could cause this much trouble
So sad; ’cause I was addicted to your love
Tic-tock; we ran out of seconds on the clock
Still you’re like a Dixie Stampede
You know how to make a girl’s heartbeat

CHAPTER 2
My Crazy Town
My Crazy Town: I love this song Jason Aldean sings. My favorite part is; bend them guitars strings till the Hank comes out; make all the drunk girls scream & shout; we love it; we hate; we all came here to make it; in this Crazy Town
. My Love Story: btw! I hope everyone remembers my lady friend from Big Shotz
; Caring Sharon! She is the one who helped write a couple of lions in the song lyric I wrote called Ripped
. You’re probably not going to believe this; but when I went down to Big Shotz
my first knight since I got back to Nashville; she once again helped me write two lions in the beginning of the second verse of the song I titled Dixie Stampede
. Here are her two lions!
When you look into my eyes; what do you see?
Do you really see me or the person I’m faking to be?
My Crazy Town: well; if you and the readers haven’t already figured it out! I’m going to try my best; once again; to place a song lyric or a poem at the end of each chapter. Like as if I needed another challenge to challenge myself with! Anyways! My Love Story: on my first knight back in this Crazy Town
; I got this Springer Mountain Farms Bluegrass ticket to the Ryman Auditorium to see Dailey & Vincent
with The Quebe Sisters Band opening up for them. My Baby*star: as soon as I walked up to the Ryman doors; I seen none other than; Leonard Newell. I had already called him from back home to let him and his beautiful wife Julia know I was coming into Nash*Vegas for a short four months visit. He of course was all smiles; and I was all laughs! I guess I’ll get to see Julia sometime; but I don’t exactly know when. Leonard had informed me; that she no longer works there; something about it just being to hard on her! Anyways! My Bride 2 Be: I know you’re married but I love you still! I wished you could have been there with me this knight; I got the Quebe sisters; all three of them to sign my second book on page 334. I told them I love that song they sing, Don’t you know it’s a sin to tell a lie; I love you! Anyways! Dailey & Vincent signed my second book on pages 212 & 213; which is the pages
Ford Blue Tractor is on. Also; since I was last in lion; Dailey & Vincent didn’t even know they had left their markers they signed everything with that knight; so I gladly took them. Maybe I can use them for my book signings if I ever have one; which I’m sure I will sometime in the near future! Oops! Better place this in here! I was suppose to go do a book signing in Floyd County, Virginia at Connie Harman’s Beauty Salon on July the 18th, 2010 in honor of my father; but I canceled on that; to come down here to Nashville; to hopefully be with you! And as for the book signing I was going to do in Roanoke, Virginia at Ernie’s Restaurant in honor of my beloved mother; well; that too; has been canceled; for I can be with you! My Love Story: I think what would make my father and mother happier than anything; is to settle down with a hot
Southern Belle"; such as your-self; and get married to her! My Southern Belle: btw! Mr. Eddie Stubbs signed my book on the very first page. BTW! I gave Dailey & Vincent; The Quebe Sisters, and Eddie Stubbs one of my business cards with Moses and me on it! My Crazy Town: back home; just before I left; I had ordered 500 business cards from vistaprint.com. They are located in Canada! Imagine that! Just thought I would mention it! Anyways! I have already handed out about 250 of them; and got my second box to go! My Love Story: I’ll talk to you Tuesday! Love you; and remember this just for me! You’ll always be my baby*star!

I hang my bras on the bucks

At least that’s what we agreed to

A hot husband who still loves to

Ladies, ladies, ladies, follow me
Stop falling for all the wrongs

There’s no room for good artist
You’ve got to be the best
If you can’t play with fire
Always afraid of getting burnt
It’s for your best interest; you go on home

No secret; the strings on your guitar are
Ice cold

CHAPTER 3
My Intimidator
My Intimidator: today is Tuesday July the 20th. I’ve been sitting here at the library trying to get caught up! I had three lyrics to type; and now it’s back to story-time! My Brown Angel Eyes: I went to the Hermitage Café at around five a.m.; the first morning I got into town. Laurie and Frenchy were working; and was happy to see me. They were at awe; when I showed them the books. After visiting with them; and eating some delicious breakfast; I walked down to the Riverfront. As I sat there looking at the Cumberland River; I knew it was time to have myself a moment with Brent Gerald; and go on! Brent had given me a wallet seven years ago for my birthday. Since then; it has wore out; and I just had bought a new one before I left home. Anyways! I have never shared this with anyone accept for his family; for some reason or another I kept the pin that went to the flower! What do I mean exactly? Well; you always lay the flower on the closed casket as a pallbearer during the grave ceremony! My Love Story: I’ve never done that before; kept the pin! Honestly; I still don’t really know why I did it! All I can say is what I do understand! I placed the pin in the wallet that Brent gave me; and now it is floating somewhere on the Cumberland River! I do know that much!
My Intimidator: why did I choose this title for chapter 3! I think that one’s easy enough to figure out; with as much as information I’ve been feeding you with my passion for NASCAR racing! After all this is a book dedicated to my dad! His favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt Sr. My Love Story: I do know one thing! I don’t plan on taking any notes for this book! My Baby*star: I told my cousin Gary Cox; while I was back home kicking it! At least God is a fair God; you My Carrie*Bear
have three albums out; and now I have three novels that have been released. The funny thing is; my three novels cost more than your three CD’s lol. My Get Off On The Pain: I’m sure you’ll be working on your fourth album here soon; while I’m getting started on my fourth novel. It sure is going to be surprising enough how this book turns out! Believe me; I wouldn’t be down here in Nashville if I wasn’t the least bit curious myself!
My Love Story: I’ve seen The Lead Wrangler
; Mr. Lincoln Fischer numerous of times since I’ve been back! He’s already gone online to order the books; just as many others have! I told him it’s going to look funny; all the orders for these books; mostly coming in from Nashville, Tn. You’ll never know; just how many friends I made the last time I was here. I told Lincoln; this is the best part about my journey; the friends I meet a long the way! My Love Story: The Floyd Press did an article on me back home; and interestingly enough. LOCAL AUTHOR PUBLISHES THREE BOOKS IN SERIES
Floyd Press Article Written by: Staff Writter: Roger Mannon
It’s a big deal when a writer publishes his first book. James Phillips made his authorial debut by publishing three books. Phillips, a 1998 Floyd County High School graduate, announced the three books are part of a series based on his life adventures. He envisions The Lion Codes, The Lion Codes II, and The Lion Codes III
to eventually become a seven volume series. The books, published by Xlibris, are currently available only from the company. Phillips says they should eventually be available in book stores. It’s hard to write a book, let alone three
, he said. Phillips wrote the first one in seven months, while in Des Moines, Iowa. The second, written in Nashville, also took seven months. He wrote the third in three months in Roanoke, Virginia. He describes the style as a mix of science fiction, mysteries.
The books contain daily diaries, poetry, and songs. Phillips spent one term in the United States Air Force, serving in Okinawa, Japan, and Al Jaber, Kuwait. He said his time in Nashville was the most interesting. I got to meet a lot of people, like Sheryl Crow, Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Naomi Judd, and Kid Rock. Bill Anderson,
Whispering Bill",
was the nicest. He had a busy time in Nashville.
I went to about 20 concerts, 20 Grand Ole Opry’s, 20 hockey games, and three Tennessee Titans football games." This summer he plans two local book signings: July the 18th, (his deceased father’s birthday) in Floyd, and August the 15th, in Roanoke, on his mother’s birthday. James Phillips of Floyd County didn’t wait to publish his books one at a time; he released three at once. They don’t fit into just one genre either. The Lion Codes series are a conglomerate of fiction, travelogue, poetry, lyric, and autobiography. Phillips is a traveling man and each book tells of his adventures to Des Moines, Iowa, Nashville, Tennessee, and Roanoke, Virginia. Who he meets, what he sees, what he learns, where he goes, and how he sees the world fills the pages. Photos of his meet ups with common people and the uncommon souls he crosses paths with are scattered throughout all three volumes. Familiar places in Roanoke are depicted and encounters with locals are relayed. Phillips admits that the books are unedited; they are published through Xlibris. His enthusiasm in his written words carries through the pages. It is his messages he wishes to get across, and he doesn’t focus on the method of doing so. Phillips will be signing copies of his books at Connie Harmon’s Beauty Salon in Floyd, Virginia at 1 p.m. on Sunday, July 18th and at Ernie’s Restaurant in Roanoke, Virginia at 11 a.m. on Sunday, August 15th. For ordering information, call 1-888-795-4274, or go to www.xlibris.com.

Us ladies love to gossip in the beauty shops
Talk about what’s hot and what’s not

Read the articles about Sarah Jess
Can’t believe that girl; she’s so clueless
Sex in the city is okay
Sex in the country is way hotter
Love it when my man lays beside
Me underneath the stars
Drinkin’ the whiskey; lovin’ the bourbon
Dipping my hand in the coolers for beer
Later on we’ll break out the moonshine
Won’t be long now; I’ll be Blasted
Love when he dresses rowdy
Cowboy boots with a buttoned up shirt
While I’m shoppin’ at American Eagle
I’m always thinkin’ about him
Still I don’t forget to pick
Something especially out for me
Sex in the city is okay
Sex in the country is way hotter
Love it when my man lays beside
Me underneath the stars
Drinkin’ the whiskey; lovin’ the bourbon
Dipping my hand in the coolers for beer
Later on we’ll break out the moonshine
Won’t be long now; I’ll be Blasted
I’m ready to chug some alcohol
So ready for the guys to bring the funnel out
Sex in the city is okay

Dipping my hand in the coolers for beer
