About this ebook

A night of pizza and beer and an undercover cop land Louise in jail. Even though it's her first time in the "joint", she finds there are things she can relate to in the cement cage. Long-forgotten nightmares reappear. New "friends" remind her of old times. In the end, Louise realizes she is like a tortoise, carrying every memory, every part of her "self" with her, everywhere she goes.

This is the second installment of a larger work, The Valiant. In a matter of months, Louise lost her brother, mother and had a new stepmother with five kids. She took to the road to find some meaning in the overwhelming tragedies that seemed to follow her every step.

When I think of being brave, I think of the Scottish hero Braveheart who inspired his people to defend themselves and their homeland against the barbaric English armies in the face of overwhelming odds. He was captured, quartered and hung like a piece of meat
