    Introduction

This is not just a story, this is a call to the whole world for help…

…a love that was separated by traditions…

Before you jump to judgement, you must know that this story started few years ago, the traditions were challenging during those days in my country. Obeying parents was a must — if you obeyed them with no discussion paradise was your destiny, refusal and arguing was the door to hell. Some of you would think it strange, but this is how things were among lots of families in my culture.

I know by now you are likely starting to get furious about this and honestly, I do not like traditions a lot now myself. Still I must follow some traditions, but I try to rebel to whatever extent is possible.

Some would consider the words paradise and hell black and white issues as related to religion. This is true, except that talking to your parents and discussing things with them is not in itself a bad thing, although arguing and bad manners could be. They are considered a sin that can be erased if you fix things, and not a definite reason for hell.

Also, our religion encourages marriage between lovers, and encourages marriage among strangers over related people.

If only people were following religion properly, then everything would have been fine and the probability would have been very high that we would be together by now, and this story then would not have been written!

However things were meant to be this way, and so you have gotten your story. Turn the page to enter the hollow of our thoughts.

    Chapter 1

It was the 18th of September, a chemical analysis laboratory was the place. Somewhere in this big world was where our journey to our unknown destiny began.

I came ready with my own lab coat and the day’s newspaper. I saluted whomever I saw along my way and introduced myself as their new colleague. A kind-looking woman sitting in front of a computer told me to wait in the lab. She motioned towards a table in the corner of the lab, where I could sit and wait until the officer in charge (OIC) Matthew was ready to meet me.

I sat there, opened the newspaper sheets widely, and started to read whatever I thought was important. Matthew, who seemed to be a confident man, entered the lab and came towards me with a smile on his face and a paper in his hand. So here you are, Adrien. I see you brought your newspaper with you this morning.

Yes, I like to know what’s happening around me, I replied.

I like to know things too, but we do not bring our newspapers to work, he said. I folded the newspaper and looked at him for more guidance. He continued, This paper contains our chemists’ names and the samples they will be analyzing. I prepare it every day in the morning, so this is where you will start your work. As for you, I will not be adding your name just now. Another new employee will join us soon, and then you can start training together.

Every day I came to work and checked if the expected new employee had arrived so that we could start training, but she never showed.

Two weeks passed. It became irritating, being there for two weeks without doing a thing. Who is this selfish and annoying lady? I wondered. What makes her think she is so special to choose to be two weeks late?

It was the 4th of October, seven thirty in the morning. There was a new face in the lab! This must be her, the snobby woman! She was skinny and not so tall, and her wavy, dark brown hair fell to below her shoulders. I hopped towards her filled with harsh
