About this ebook

By listening to the expressions of others, Linda Cutler has come to realize that there is thankfully more humor in life than not, especially when it comes to well-known quips.

In a collection of witticisms, Linda humorously dissects why we repeat sayings like “he drinks like a fish” and “happy as a clam” without questioning whether anyone has ever measured fish consumption for comparison and whether it is even possible to tell if a clam is happy or sad. While examining other amusing sayings such as “sweating like a pig,” “barking up the wrong tree,” and “striking while the iron is hot,” Cutler offers witty reflections and clever wisdom that encourages others to stop and think about what they are saying on a daily basis and what each phrase really means.

Happy as a Clam is a collection of quips that make us all scratch our heads while wondering how we can sow wild oats, why we would ever want to spill our guts, and why there are vegetables like suffering succotash.

Angels and Miracles is about testimony. I am revealing actual situations that I encountered which strengthened my prayer warrior abilities. Anyone can if one chooses to open their hearts o others. I know what I experienced is real and that God is with me. He wants us to bring everything to Him an I am trying to do so. My intent is to encourage others to take that step. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.

This is a collection of what I call quips: expressions people use that are not accurate or don’t make a lot of sense when you think about them. We repeat things without actually hearing what we are saying. Take from the get-go, for example. There is no sense to a get-go. Why not simply say from the beginning or as I start? Why do people say what they do?

I will begin with a clam and then move on to animals, insects, and other categories regarding common sayings we use. My first example is, How can you be happy as a clam? Can anyone really tell if a clam is happy or sad? Why would someone make a statement like that? How would you know to what degree clam happiness exists? When I was a child, I had a clam for a pet.
