About this ebook

If you are searching for personal freedom and happiness, then get ready to move closer to your desired destination.

Written as a series of letters with anecdotes and life lessons, this book reveals truths such as:

• Love is the greatest power in the universe and a gift from nature to humanity—it is a language that the blind can understand, the deaf can feel, and the whole world can recognize.

• Quitting is never a good option. Too many lose their belief after hitting the first roadblock on the way to achievement. We need to find strength of purpose again if we are to achieve anything that is worthwhile in life.

• No one is as wretched as the person who despairs of the present, is troubled by the past, and is anxious about the future. True wealth lies in each day. Find it while you are still here.

Filled with insights and inspirational messages from the Bible and thinkers such as Seneca, Lao Tzu, and Mother Teresa, this book won’t just bring you comfort—it will provide you with a purposeful direction as you seek wisdom.

    PART 1

A LETTER TO POMPONOUS ON THE BASIC ARTS OF LIVING

    CHAPTER 1

    THE ART OF LOVING

M y dear Pomponous, I have had so many reasons to write these letters for you. One reason is that we will both benefit greatly from them as we progress and pursue wisdom. Today’s topic of discussion is about the art of loving. I can say that love is the greatest power in the universe and a gift from nature to humanity. We can put love among the three strong towers of life, which you already know are faith, hope, and, lastly, love. Among these three, to me, love is the greatest.

We should all follow this pathway of life, for it leads to a paradise. To get to this paradise, we must first love and care for ourselves properly. By so doing, we will be able to foster care for all things that are around us. In order to love and care for ourselves properly, a garden of love needs to be cultivated in our hearts, for it will enable us to love selflessly and without expectation. It is like this, Pomponous: No matter how much water you take from an ocean, it will never run dry.

All things work together in love and unity for the sake of a common goal—existence. The more we grow and nurture these gardens of love in our hearts, the stronger and more present they will be—and our embodiment of it will grow all the more so. Love is one of the keys that unlocks genuine wealth in life. The proof of love lies in thought and action and not in mere words.

Loving is a process that requires discipline and commitment. The more we practice having loving thoughts and actions within and around us, the more it comes back to us. We become like a tree that is close to a riverbank. It ever blossoms, has radiant leaves
