Cindy Dunham

After her death I was sent to live with my Aunt and then later I was sent to my maternal Grandparents to live. As you can see I never knew where I was going to wind up living. While my brother was sent to my father's mother to live. And my sister was sent to foster care, while my father went into the army. Four years later he got remarried but my stepmother said that us children were not included. Being separated from my brother and sister was the hardest part of living without a Mother.

    Author History

    FB_IMG_1558735428272.jpg

As years went by I found a new me. At age 63 years old I learned I had the ability to write poems. I guess this is what when you lose your mother at age 3 1/2 years. After her death I was sent to my Aunt Doris, then I was sent to my Uncle Jack after a few months and then after a few more months I was sent to my Grandmother to live for the next seventeen years. While my brother was sent to my Father’s mother to live and my sister was put in foster care so my father could go into the army. When he got out he got married but we children weren’t part of the package. Being separated from my brother and sister was the hardest part to live through after my Mother died. It was definitely a learning process of how to grow up with help. However I did survive with God’s help and this is the end result.

    Dedication

To my two Granddaughters Megan and Heather and my Great Granddaughter Jamie who at the time was only 7 years old typing my poems on the computer for me and the biggest partner of all was God who made it all possible

    Portrait Of Barb

    You have gorgeous hair

    With a beautiful flair

    It might

    Be white

    It’s just right

I love it with all my might

    Your personality

    Is a reality

    You’re always sincere

    You don’t have any fear

    You’re always polite

You don’t look for a fight

    You’re always caring

    You’re daring

    You’re never wearing

You help me to keep fairing

    Time Together

    We are as one

    We have so much fun

    You are so dear

    I wish you lived near

    As you get older

I know you won’t get bolder

    Serenity is your theme

Just as it is with me

    We make a good pair

    We know how to share

    Our time together

    No matter what the weather

    It’s a great time

    Because we don’t whine

    It’s our game

    To remain the same

    Special Treat

    When we did meet

    It was a special treat

    You’re so sweet

    You’re real neat

    It’s sublime

    When we spend time

    Being together

    Is so much better

    Talking on the phone

    Keeps me from being alone

    Hearing you speak

    Keeps me from being weak

    You are wise

    Without any lies

Thank you for being a friend

    To the living end

    Shopping

    Time can be trying

    Even if you’re buying

    Looking around

    When nothing can be found

    Up and down the aisles

Is worse than going through trials

    Especially if you can’t find

    Something that will bind

    With you

    Maybe something blue

As long as you like it

    Make sure it does fit

    Shopping is your thing

    Happiness does bring

    You do enjoy

    It gives you joy

Happy Birthday (From Frog & Me)

Here’s a frog leaping into another year

You don’t have to have any fear

    You’re still young

    You can still have fun

Friends always have a good time

    It makes it sublime

    Our friendship has no end

    We’ve nothing wrong to mend

As friends, the time flies by

You can’t stop it if you try

    We can talk for hours

    All about the flowers

We never have a dull moment

Nor to each other, do we torment

    We’re like frogs

Even tho’ we don’t jump from log to log

    No Sense

    Here’s my plan

    To definitely land

    On my feet

    Instead of a heap

    There is no sense

    To take offense

    Just because

    Someone has a cause

    To be spiteful

    Even if they think
