About the Author
Jesus and Me
Hot cup of coffee
Just the dogs and me
Quiet and alone
In this place I call home
Maneuvering through life stages
As words jump from these pages
Alone just casting lots
Sitting here connecting the dots
It's amazing how you find yourself
As the answer begins to reveal itself
Locked doors open with the right key
A quiet conversation just Jesus and me
Best Friend
You're my happy when I feel sad
You bring reason when I get mad
Worry sets in and tries to steal the next move
Look in your eyes helps my mind to improve
When I fail and don't reach my goal
You're a soft armrest for a weary soul
The love you give is hard to comprehend
Impossible to capture the depth of my best friend
Wrinkle in Time
A wrinkle in time
That's all I have with you
Cannot find the words
To the things I wish you knew
Sitting and wishing to find
That special rhyme
And make the most
Of this wrinkle in time
Poet's Prayer
Lord, I hope these words
That are jumbled in my head
Can make it to this paper
Through the tip of this pencil lead
I pray that they flow
In a way that assists others
To say all the hard things
In our struggle with our brothers
Kindness that heals
The hurt and the pain
Brilliantly captures the joy
As we dance in the rain
Hoping some laughter
Will spread more love in the air
And help to show God's grace
Through this poet's prayer
Fire
We struggle with small
And stumble on the simple
Days keep on passing
The worry shows a wrinkle
Thinking about the things
We have no power to change
Instead of moving on
We get more constrained
By all of life's trials
Difficult as they can be
Things get better
