    Adirondack Blue - Christopher Dean

    Dedication

To my beautiful daughters who bring much inspiration to my life and remind me of the innocence in each of us. Also, to my family and friends who have stood by me through good times and bad, without whom I would not be here today.

Thank you to you all and I am glad you are in my life.

    A New Beginning

It’s time to begin life anew,

There’s nothing else for me to do.

For all other plans have gone askew,

To new plans I must stick like glue.

And ensure I accomplish for those precious two

All that I know to be true.

A new beginning has been given to me,

To become what I’ve often wanted to be.

I take this time to beg and plead.

To God above, I pray to thee.

And let me not forget the deed,

I swore to those who’ve had to flee.

I shall overcome these dark times

And just as you’ve read these lines,

I shall return with gladder tides

Because of the ties that bind.

    I will spare the dimes

    So please remember this rhyme.

For we know not when our time shall come,

Or if we’ll get to do all we want to be done.

So take what time you know is won,

And do your best to have some fun.

Frolic and play in the fields and sun,

Because Death will find you, wherever you run.

    A Testament to You

    The sun is shining

    And children are whining

    That it is too bright

    But oh, what a sight?

    Your beauty can black out

    The brightest of stars

And make a man take things a bit too far

With no desire or need to pout.

You are the embodiment of heaven

And our two families would make us seven.

However it is what I want to say

That makes me wish we had a day.

    I have feelings for you

I know not what to do

A relationship is not good right now

Just like winter is when there are no fields for the plow.

Your friendship is important to me

Just as I hope mine is to thee.

A trip we can now take

And a lasting bond we’ll be able to make.

From me to you I simply say

It will be a glorious day

So come with me and have some fun

Because there is nothing else to be done.

    Adirondack Blue

    The world turns

    We all yearn

    To know what to do

    But some things are true.

    Seasons turn,

    Feelings change

    The sky stays bright

    And Adirondack Blue.

Though far away we may go

And a long, long row we have to hoe

The things we love come along,

They keep our faith and make us strong.

    When you feel hard-pressed

There may only be one thing to do,

Remember these words are not in jest

But the sky will remain Adirondack Blue.

    For those who
