About this ebook
Chris R. M.
I’ve been writing poetry since I was seventeen years old in my sophomore year at high school. Only one teacher taught me how to write poetry. Her name was Mrs. Morano, my reading teacher. Some of this poems are basically about my life, such as friends, family, and teachers at school. But some of them are not about my life, such as death.

The Only Thing That Matters is Friendship
A friend is so loving and caring like you, yet, it’s so hard to say good-bye to you.
I was maybe mean to you back then, like I have said mean stuff to you,
But till now, I know you.
I never gave you a second chance to get to know you better.
I haven’t known you better, but till now, I have known you.
Each one is kind, respectful, and truthful.
One of you may be big and tough,
One of you who hugged me and stared at me, which I hated. And one of you looks scary too.
That’s why I’m too afraid to get to know you.
I was so lonely during elementary, middle, and high school year.
I thought I wasn’t going to have any friends, but now I do.
Now you guys are my friends.
Most of you are good people, and I’m glad I found you.
You may be black or white, I don’t care what color you are.
You may be fat or skinny, that’s the way you are.
You may be tall or short.
That’s the size you are.
You may be gay or straight, and I don’t care what you are.
The only thing that matters is friendship.
This is the last day we’ll see each other.
You may be lonely and I’ll be lonely as well,
But we will stay as friends forever and always, no matter what.
Remember the time that we met each other; remember the time that we laughed together,
Remember the time that we cared about each other; remember the time that we had with each other,
And nothing came between us.
Our friendship never ended and never died;
