PREFACE

S i nce I started this book I have gone back and forth on whether I should complete it. I have several reasons to withhold my story, but as I examine them, I find their bases are all set in fear, which is not a valid part of my decision-making process. I am therefore forging forward.

I’m sharing this story to provide a perspective on a journey everyone takes. On the surface, our journeys seem different because of our diverse nationalities, families, finances, personalities, and life experiences. But I urge you to look deeper into your life, because it’s there that the similarities of our journeys lie.

It’s sad that most of us are so enchanted by the lives we are living that we disregard anything outside what we perceive. But I know there are people like you and me who are searching for answers, and it is to these people that I speak.

Our main character’s name is Heart of the Deer. This name was given to her as a gift from the Gods. Heart of the Deer is a bright light who brings blessings to the planet. This is the meaning of her name.

She is just learning the truth about the planet. As you read her journey, review your own life, and find the courage to face, thank, and release the difficulties you have endured. Because freedom from the past is another one of my goals. Our past challenges have no place in our future lives unless that is our desire. The ability to release these is the gift I’m giving to myself and offer to you.

It is my sincerest request that God will guide and bless me as I share. I pray that this work will find its way into the hands of my audience and be received in the spirit of love as I intend. It is with humility and appreciation for my unique unfolding that I share this story with you.

Heart of the deer

PROLOGUE

I t’s an easy night. Everything is quiet, and a gentle breeze glides over my face as I consider the sky. It’s the first time in my life that I’ve really examined this vast dark ocean, and what I see amazes me. It is breathtaking.

At the beginning of my life, I saw the sky as blackness studded with bursts of white, some of them in patterns and others apparently random. My planet’s moon is round, but depending on its alignment to the sun, it appears in different phases in the sky. The light from distant stars creates shadows that transform the empty blackness of space into a sea of color and add depth to our perception of it.

Most of my life, I took the night sky for granted. But this year, the picture I see has changed. I now see indigo and cobalt blue, emerald green, ruby red and gold. Sometimes I see a grid like an artist’s guide. The first time it happened, I thought I was daydreaming, but now I know the sky is vibrating with energy, and I’m seeing this energy transformed into beautiful colors.

When I gaze into the night sky, I feel overwhelming love and support. It is a pure sensation that brings out goosebumps all over my body even though I’m not cold. I have a smile on my face and warmth in my soul. It is the most satisfied I have ever felt.

The sky is so immense and beautiful that I feel insignificant in comparison. This makes me ask things like, Why are we here? What should I be doing? What is the purpose of my planet in the universe?

I live in the third dimension, in what I call the Learning galaxy. One of the many planets in this galaxy is called Earth but I think a better name is Mirage. On Mirage, you will find the human family, and that is where my story takes place.

I’m living in the Age of Enlightenment, and I’m in the prime of my life. I knew that the time we live in is often called the Information Age, but I had never heard of the Age of Enlightenment.
