About this ebook

In the game of life, GOOD PLAYERS SEE THE TRUTH;
GREAT PLAYERS LIVE THE TRUTH.

"What's Your A-Game?" is a powerful tool for evaluating your current standing in the game of life. With spirituality as the key focus, this book offers ideas for upgrading your status. The author offers you an opportunity to see if you are really a player in the game of life. While many assume that they are players because they are alive, this is not an accurate assumption. In fact, many people, even some who consider themselves spiritually aware, live life simply as spectators. By outlining the various levels at which people choose to participate and live, this book supports self-awareness through the fun and familiar analogy of sports. Allow yourself to discover your current investment in living. Are you really a player in the game of life?

    INTRODUCTION

    GOT GAME?

    A LL OF US HAVE HEARD people talk about the game of life, and it is a great analogy for the human experience. Life is often like playing a team sport such as basketball, soccer, football, hockey, or baseball and this book uses a sports analogy to communicate the available options that individuals have in living out their highest and greatest good. Throughout our lives, we need endurance, strength, skill, and everything that a professional athlete needs to be successful. We even have experiences that we would interpret as wins or losses. However, real life isn’t about winning or losing; it’s about playing the game…and one hopes that you do choose to play. When you decide to play, be sure to bring your a-game!

    This book extends the common definition of a-game and includes specifics on how to bring your best to the game of life. Most of us interpret this term as doing our best and trying our hardest, as we exchange this motivational phrase to encourage each other and even regain confidence in ourselves. However, in this book the term has a much broader scope. This book explains that everyone has an A-game spiritual status, but despite your assumptions, you may not even be a player currently. In fact, you might be surprised to discover at which level you are truly participating in the game of life. As you consider these ideas, the opportunities for enriching your life become endless.

    In my delineation of A-game, A is the first letter of five words that describe different levels of participation in the game of life. These words refer to various levels of life status, which exists on a continuum. The levels are Alive, Awake, Aware, Aligned, and Allowing. Each level represents upward progress toward your best life and spirituality, which is bringing your A-game. Each one supports your ascent to your highest and greatest good. As you read the book, detailed definitions, and explanations are given so that you can evaluate your current status and compare it with how you truly desire to participate in the game of life. In the meantime, consider this brief overview.
