Darleen Miller
From an early age, author Darleen Miller became a caregiver to her mother, father, grandmother, and grandfather. Since she has a teaching degree, she provided care to her classes in second, fifth, and sixth grades and then to her three children as they grew and made choices in their lives. She was on call with their needs and health issues until they graduated from high school and were on their own individual paths. As a wife of forty-seven years, Darleen cared for a husband who had cancer and subsequently passed away in home hospice. She has always put the needs of others before her own, and it seemed like a lonely path. Even though there were many opportunities to lead and be in charge of many people, her own dedication to her family and friends overshadowed most of her choices. This book has been designed to create communities of caregivers and help them be aware of the need to take care of self as well as taking care of others. Sometimes caregivers completely put the love for others ahead of the love for the self. Darleen lives in Arvada, Colorado, and has decided that this is her time to shine. Her holistic training and the ability to energetically heal others is her passion, with her heart’s desire connected to her teaching and giving others the opportunity to know the self.
