So many of us, as well as our children, lose our way because we do not know how to let our gifts shine. Our gifts are ourselves, in being ourselves. God naturally works through us, and we grow and blossom into spiritual flowers. However, when we are taught or begin to believe that who we are has no value, then begins our spiritual separation from God, as well as our natural gifts. Therefore, we become lost in a world of confusion. In a world where there is no mercy, predator becomes prey and prey is often predator. We become trapped in a world of illusion where there is no escape without God.

My goal with Spiritual Essence is to give a person a way out through my experiences and the blessing of spiritual insight my Father has given me. This is my way of giving back to the world what has been so freely given to me.

I pray that God will bless you and me in my efforts to do his will.

Dedications

My first dedication will always be to God, I can do nothing without the gift of spirit, which is the life, and love he has given me. My second dedication is to my mother who has shown me the greatest love I’ve known in life. My third dedication goes to my sisters, my daughter, my step-father, and Deloris. None of my second and third books could have been written without the love, support, and experiences I shared with these people. However, my greatest dedication, commitment, and love is to God. All things are possible with God! The greatest gift God has given me came through my father Charles Timothy Smith, he taught me to always love and help others. No greater gift can a man give, if he has not given love.

Blind Journey

The destiny of my journey

wasn’t meant for me to see,

and the cost of my journey must be paid by me.

I’ve been on many journeys,

some I didn’t like,

some were filled with consequences

and some have saved my life.

Some were filled with humility,

and I often had to fight.

Some were willed with deception,

and Satan wouldn’t let me live right.

The destiny of my journey

wasn’t meant for me to see,

and the cost of my journey must be paid by me.

There were times in my life I was harmless, I was lost,

drugs had taken a toll on me.

I had paid a very high cost.

My journey never got easy,

the cost only got higher.

The only things I wanted to do

was fore fill my lust and desires.

The destiny of my journey

wasn’t meant for me to see,

and the cost of my journey

must be paid by me.

The Lord saw me spinning,

I was lost and out of control,

that’s when he grabbed my spirit,

and chasten my body and soul.

The day that God awakened me,

I knew I was not longer blind,

the Lord revealed my journey to me,

his destiny has now become mine.

What Kind Of Life Is This

What more can I say, when my life’s, forever changed.

Satan won’t let go of me, he messes with my brain,

He’s constantly bringing memories,

that to me no longer exist. He’s constantly giving me feelings,

that my physical body miss.

He never gives me peace, he only lets me rest,

what more can I say, when my life is just a mess.

Everything I want to do is somehow related to God,

He’s the one who blesses me and messes with my heart.

He is the one who changes me,

when I cannot see and end.

And often time He protects me, when I do not have a friend.

What more can I say, when I’m often left alone.

Satan comes around when he thinks that God is gone.

Some days I have to battle.

Some days it’s just a fight.

Most day I carry my burdens,

and struggle to do what’s right.

What more can I say, some days I just exist,

If I’m a child of God, what kind of life is this?

Captivity

My mind and heart are filled with love,

and captivity has kept me alone.

I have no one to share my love,

I don’t even have a home.

How much longer do I stay here Lord,

what is your plan for my life?

I’ve lost everything meaningful to me,

you’ve even taken my wife.

I know I’ve failed to honor you Lord,

in my desires and the things that I pray.

Now I do things to know you Lord,

I hope it will shorten my stay.

Captivity wasn’t meant to hurt me Lord,

or cause me any grief,

it is just your way to help me Lord,

and give me needed relief.

Now I’ve changed the way
