INTRODUCTION

F earless Faith is about reaching your goals and aspirations in life through blindly trusting God to bring our greatest desires to fruition. Throughout the chapters, we explore different phases and circumstances that happen in life that create barriers and limitations on people based on fear.

We explore the reasons and the seasons for hardship but also offer insightful, inspirational guidelines based on scripture that help the reader understand human nature and how to become fearless in our relationship with God. It is fundamentally a self-help, empowerment, faith-based book that follows the lives of various people who overcame some of life’s greatest obstacles through trusting God and developing a fearless attitude, which brought about miraculous changes in their lives.

CHAPTER 1

Brave

W hat does it mean to be fearless? It means to dig your heels into the experience of life and hold on tight with no reservations. We know it’s not going to be smooth skies all the time, but whether the ride is rough and choppy or smooth or arduous and long, we know we are on this ride for a purpose, to reach a destination. As we journey to the destination, we want to make it the best ride that it can be, right?

If you had to drive across the country, wouldn’t you want the ride to be as enjoyable as possible? I would roll down my windows and breathe in all the fresh air around me. I would put the top on my car back so I could feel the warm sunshine on my skin. I would also turn on my favorite music and sing along with every tune to pass the time. I wouldn’t pass up a journey to see all the many wonders of the land because I was fearful that I might run out of gas while on my way or the weather might turn while I was driving. I’m not going to forfeit an opportunity to see the rolling mountains in Montana because I’m afraid of driving on hills.

I’m going to fearlessly make that trek and soak in all the beauty that those mountains offer. I’d want to see the regal waterfalls of Niagara and the snowcapped mountains in Colorado. I’d want to drive up the Big Sur in California and see the entire coastline, no matter how long, winding, and scary the route might be.

Why? This life holds far too many treasures for us to discover and experience to not take advantage of it all. Far too many of us miss out on the wonderful things that God has placed here for us to enjoy because we are too afraid of what will happen at every turn.

Because we can’t see what’s in front of us at all times, we fear the unknown, good and bad. We become so uncertain, often wondering whether we will ever be able to get back up again if we slip and fall. We become too apprehensive about the inevitable trials and obstacles that we will have to face in order to get to those better days that always follow the hardest times.

Because of this, most people just dwell in a state of mediocracy. I’ve heard people say, Well, my parents lived in this neighborhood for the past fifty years, so I’m going to stay right here in this neighborhood for the rest of my life. I don’t even want to see anything else!

And when I would hear my friends and associates say these things, I would wonder, Why would you not want to experience things outside of your part of town, city, or even country? A whole incredible world is out there, full of brilliance and beauty.

I believe that the fear of stepping out of their comfortable boxes and instead living fearlessly keeps people stagnated and stuck in one place.
