A Ray of Light - Ray Charles Robinson

    GUARDING THE FUTURE

It’s very difficult for loving guardians to encourage their children in the face of peril. Children need a safe and secure environment to embrace the skills of; reading, writing, math, history and science in the face of turmoil. Under the weight of such oppression as physical wars, and financial burdens, guardians will have to gather themselves together and give to their children- life. They must be made to believe in a better future. With compassion, guardians must give words that will comfort and challenge their children. Families all over the world are facing real agony just to survive. Many news reports have mentioned the plight of many Americans, and many other citizens of the world who are grasping for the very air they breathe. Children are sometimes wounded in their hopes and dreams, due to the stress they see their parents suffer. The many wars fought against poverty, sickness, brutality, despair and hopelessness are tremendous challenges. But we shall prevail!

Yes, there is a way to overcome those challenges. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is the champion of all times. The Lord strong and mighty is our refuge. The God of all creation, Sovereign and eternal is the one to turn to. Trust in His power to give life where there is destruction. He alone works miracles to show His purpose and plan for all of creation. All souls are precious in His sight, and none will be turned away. My wife and I have trusted God through some very difficult years raising nine children. Our children, along with us, have survived public education, illness, extreme debts and much more. We would pray over our children before they fell asleep almost every night as they were growing up. It might not sound like much to some, but I know the protection God has given my family as a result of faith in the face of peril. Champions don’t quit and guardians never stop protecting!

Children are the silent victims in most conflicts, whether they are from physical weapons are burdensome debts. Many of our schools have become fierce battle grounds for those who really want to learn and make a positive impact in this world. Our task as guardians is a daunting one that calls for courage. We must let our precious children know that their surroundings won’t define them. Instead, they are the impact of change and influence to their surroundings through integrity. Parents, protectors and guardians of all spectrums, know this, that there are those who understand and are standing with you and your families on the side of all that’s good and pure. Stand your ground guardians, this soil that we protect is precious, and freedom always is! We have the victory in Jesus Christ our Lord.

Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people, but Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 19:13–14 ESV)

    GONE FISHING

Sometimes we just need something or someone to remind us that there are still good things in this life. So often when bad, mean, and ugly events happen that are caused by fellow humans; and nature, they tend to reshape the entire landscape of a person’s hope. Hope is the anchor that keeps one stable amid the most violent actions and words. Words can build up and they can tear down. Words lead to actions and therefore receive a reaction in return. It’s a wonderful place to be, to have a mind resolved to a code of principles that anchors the will to do good. An anchor when ugly words and actions will not cause that same re-action from me.

A kind man gave me a fishing rod and reel once. Maybe it doesn’t sound like much to some. But that kind action caused a reaction in a young man in his
