About this ebook
This book is a wonderful tool for those seeking a message that children can understand and relate to. A book with truths to be read to your child at home or for children’s ministers, directors, or teachers to teach in a classroom or worship setting.
Debbie Ogden Mayes
Debbie Ogden Mayes is a lifelong resident of Livingston, Texas. She’s been married to her High School Sweetheart, Keith for over 40 years. Debbie has two grown children with families of their own. She says her four grandchildren are the frosting on life’s cake. Debbie has been involved in children’s ministry for many years. She spent 20 years serving in the Primary Sunday School Department at Chesswood Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas, teaching two and three year olds as well as 4 and 5 year olds. She served at Central Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas writing and presenting the Children’s Sermon during worship. While at Central Baptist Church, she also led many Women’s Bible Studies. Debbie has no formal education to brag about. She’s been gifted by God to write and present Bible messages on a level that children can understand and adults can benefit from as well. She is currently a member of First Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas. My prayer is that this book falls into the hands of Children’s Ministry Leaders, Sunday School Teachers, and Pastors that are desperately seeking a message to impact the children they are ministering to. Writing children’s messages comes easily for me. Over the years, I have learned that it doesn’t come that easy for others. I hope and pray this book will be the resource you need. May the words given to me by God, flow through you, planting seeds of salvation, reaping an abundant harvest. As you teach children, get on their eye level, be silly, let them talk and ask questions. Smile a lot. Be playful, demonstrative, and always be full of energy and excitement.

Good morning, boys and girls! This morning, we’re going to play a game. I’ll tell you something, and you’ll tell me if what I’ve said is the truth or a lie—if it’s true or false.
Are you ready? Here we go!
1. Jesus was born in a fancy hospital in Mexico. (False.)
2. You can find God’s truths in the Holy Bible. (True.)
3. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. (True.)
4. Jesus died in an airplane crash, and his body was never found. (False.)
5. Jesus died on a cross. (True.)
6. Jesus was buried and never seen again. (False.)
7. You can be your own God. Just be good and you’ll go to heaven. You don’t need Jesus. (False.)
8. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. (True.)
9. When we die, we go to Disney World. (False.)
10. Jesus is the holy Son of God. (True.)
Boys and girls, you did a great job. That’s because you’ve been taught the truth. We need to know the truth. There are many teachers and preachers teaching false messages. Where do we find the truth? We find the truth in God’s holy Word, the Bible. That’s why we need to study our Bibles. We need to know what the Bible says. That way, we’ll know when someone is teaching us things that aren’t right. We must read and study our Bibles. We should memorize as much of the Bible as we can. It is very important to know the truth. God’s truth.
Please answer true or false to one more statement: Jesus loves you and wants you to know
