    Snapshot

In God’s Vibes Matter, Juliana Page shares her unconventional spiritual journey of relating with God’s presence, voice, and power. She shows spiritual seekers and on-the-fence believers how to stop striving in their worldly search and instead be guided by the one true source, Jesus.

    Overview

Many of us limit the power of God in our lives when we pursue countless things that are void of spiritual understanding and full of unbelief—things that the world says bring good vibes and valuable energy like our erratic feelings and desires. Although not one of us is immune in our own power to avoid the readily available, senseless, and harmful desires that so cleverly snare us into destruction, we do have a fighting chance if we run after the faith from which we somehow wandered away. The good fight of faith demands a different pursuit: a pursuit of righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleness. This fighting, however, looks more like resting and abiding—something to which most Christians are not accustomed.

In God’s Vibes Matter, Juliana Page recalls her path of initially doing the only thing she knew to do: leaning on her own understanding rather than trusting God. She found herself struggling to understand how to navigate what she wasn’t capable of, and how to fight in a way she had never been trained. Juliana relates how a relationship crisis finally disrupted her efforts and served as the impetuous that catapulted her into spiritual boot camp with the Holy Spirit. This holy submission has radically transformed her life path and inspired a ministry to empower others to use their spiritual journeys as a basis to connect with God, fight the good fight of faith, and reveal his glory in the world.

God’s Vibes Matter will help readers understand the battle for their souls, how hope is found, and how to live from a position of power and authority. Readers will learn to:

    • Build enthusiasm for reading the Bible

    • Learn how God’s Word changes the narrative of their lives

    • Recognize when and where they are under spiritual attack

    • Come clean about the ways they may be unknowingly giving away their power

    • Evaluate where they are on their spiritual journeys

    • Discover rest and alignment for their souls

    • Reclaim and exercise God’s authority and restoration in every area of their lives

In God’s Vibes Matter, Juliana draws on the lessons she learned about the everyday miracles that illuminate the best of God’s Spirit working in and through us. These lessons along with insightful journal prompts will inspire Spirit seekers to look deeper into their own stories and empower readers to prosper through Spirit-led living.

    Author Background

If anyone knew how to show others the way—or rather, make circles around the mountain and wander in the wilderness like a boss—Juliana Page was your woman. Not surprisingly, God was well aware of this inner madness and had a way of working it all for good. Thankfully, in his timing, he turned this once wayward woman back toward a humble, joyful surrender to his authority.

Up until the age of nine, Juliana really had no complaints: life in her small country town was good, she was baptized and attended Catholic school (which meant she had a misguided fear of God), and her cheerful self was never bereft of imaginative things to do.

After a series of domestic disruptions and strange happenings in the home, life got real. On a seemingly normal afternoon, Juliana’s mother handed her the phone and said, Your mom wants to talk to you. She acknowledged her birth mother for the first time in that earth-shattering moment, and she began to question even the simplest details about her existence and her environment for its true meaning.

Juliana began sensing the tug of her call. Soon, the deep pain of witnessing loved ones self-destruct, the passion she felt in keeping the peace, and the purpose of not leaving a damaging legacy collided. Clearly seeing in her immediate surroundings that life was far from glamorous, she became desperate to find the way, truth, and life that was not being modeled by anyone around her.

In Juliana’s spiritual blindness, she had no idea what God was up to, or that all of the challenges she would soon encounter under the authority of her own will were pivotal stepping stones in her spiritual maturity boot camp.

On the journey, she experimented with socially acceptable, not-so-acceptable, traumatic, and inspiring methods. In the midst of it all, she managed to find wisdom to excel in the world and managed to apply tactful reasoning along the way.

Juliana uncovered purpose, passion, and peace in witnessing the subtle power of God moving in her life. Now she has a deep desire as well as a knack for stirring up that fire and awareness in others.

What if identity crisis, self-worth battle, and food addiction were actually the right precursors to a no-turning-back desperation to pursue God?

Was her journalism degree really training in asking God powerful questions and listening for his answers? Could her life coaching practice actually have been fine-tuning her spiritual senses to recognize the voice of the wonderful counselor and the gift of his Spirit? And was a corporate training supervisor position really a setup to be humbled and pruned by God?

A yoga certification, study of the universe, and intuition could not manufacture lasting peace, but it did prepare her to get to know the one who could, through the being still labor and endurance necessary to study and meditate on God’s Word.

Could a random call to run a foundation be an opportunity to step into God’s grace?

Who knew that a master’s degree in film production was really a dynamic character study, or that breaking two wrists at once was really a spiritual breakthrough, or that surrendering to her powerlessness was actually the real pathway to prosperity?

Juliana has had a scandalous love affair with God, but she considers him her first true love and soul mate. She knows God saved her life and keeps her in joyful devotion, blowing her mind with how he runs things in her world. He works in mysterious ways, and his vibes most definitely always matter.

    Chapter Summaries

    Introduction

A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of. (Luke 6:45, NIV)

No matter who we are or where we come from, we all possess an innate longing to know, seek, and stand for the one we’re made for. Yet this is the very relationship we often deny, ignore, and run from. A hardened heart is a dangerous condition, and if left unexamined, it has the power to destroy every good and perfect gift life has to offer—including ourselves. We can choose whether or not to manage our inner character, but the sure thing—the very nature of our thoughts, emotions, attitudes, and motives—will inevitably vibe out of us.

    Act 1: The Veil

Act 1 is designed to reveal the early onset and corruption of the world’s influence on our lives, as designed by the enemy.

    Chapter 1—Dress Up

Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. (Matt. 18:3, NIV)

What causes us to be separate from our God? It is our enemy, the devil, who comes to steal, kill, and destroy our connection, joy, and peace. Our enemy waits for the perfect moment when we are most vulnerable to begin his sly tactics at corrupting our hearts. This chapter identifies the early onset of the devil’s core deceptive strategy through the betrayal and abandonment Juliana endured as a young girl learning she was adopted.

    Chapter 2—Shockwaves

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Rom. 3:23, NIV)

Trauma can often trigger loss of innocence and rebellion, or it can be used to awaken. This chapter demonstrates how a phone call acted as a crossroad where pain, passion, and purpose collided. Juliana shares the far-from-ideal moment she and her birth mother spoke and acknowledged one another for the first time.

    Chapter 3—Broken Vessel

I have been forgotten like one who is dead; I have become like a broken vessel. (Ps. 31:12, NIV)

When we are young, we are wise to obey our parents. Yet if a solid example isn’t presented, does this still apply? This chapter highlights Juliana’s process of learning to fight in the flesh, or to please others for the sake of keeping the peace rather than perpetuating or creating more conflict, as well as the loss of her sense of self in the process.

    Chapter 4—Responsibility

Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. (Matt. 5:48, NIV)

Without spiritual awareness and maturity, even the truth can deceive us. This chapter portrays how Juliana fell into the snare of perfectionism in academics and gymnastics as an attempt to gain the approval of those she loved, and to avoid negative attention. Attaining perfection is a great myth that seems to be the right path but only leads to destruction.

    Act 2: The Wilderness

Act 2 is designed to reveal the three temptations the devil uses to convince us we are in control and can make our own way in the world.

    Chapter 5—False Security

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up. (1 Thess. 5:11, NIV)

This chapter provides context for how we learn to count on our independence to establish our worth and to survive. Standing on the courage to change, Juliana shares how she began seeking for her way in the world through personality assessments, internships, and pursuit of the American dream.

    Chapter 6—Works of the Flesh

For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance and folly. All these evils come from inside and defile a person. (Mark 7:21–23, NIV)

Our belief systems drive our emotions and actions. Impatience, doubt, unbelief, and feeling disqualified, diminished, or misused can often create a strong desire to use the standards of the world for feedback and validation relative to our ability to perform and achieve. This chapter uncovers the root of addiction that we can keep a secret from the world. Whatever we hide, we all inevitably will have to face that being our own god is too heavy a burden to carry.

    Chapter 7—Control

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. (Prov. 19:21, NIV)

After a season of self-destruction, we are desperate for hope, aware of where we can’t turn to for it, and yet still unsure how to press on. This chapter shows how Juliana’s newfound passions and plans to run her own business and change the world were not in agreement with God’s plans. Now, after a career change, she is humbled to be a light in a dysfunctional work environment.

    Chapter 8—Stop the Search

Oh, that I might have my request, that God would grant what I hope for. (Job 6:8, NIV)

Future-tripping and planning our next steps are exciting. We can search all we want, but if our plans are not directed and led by God, they will not stand. This chapter shares how Juliana encountered God’s amazing grace. As she discovered for herself, lasting peace is not found in yoga, and true love isn’t found in other people.

Act 3: The Truth—It Is Written!

Act 3 is designed to reveal new life, Spirit-led life that trumps the ways of going astray as guided by the enemy, the world, and ourselves.

    Chapter 9—Predestined for Adoption

For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. (Rom. 6:14, NIV)

If the Lord is with us, it doesn’t matter what things look like or feel like. God is able to work all things together for good, simply because he is that good. This chapter shares how Juliana’s life came into focus when God revealed her adoption story from his perspective.

    Chapter 10—Worth

In order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. (Rom. 8:4–6, NIV)

God is always more important than our fears and idols, and he must be kept the main event. This chapter identifies how, when we trust God and his words about us, we lack nothing. Juliana shares how God’s divine exchange shifted her paradigm of brokenness and condemnation to restoration and breakthrough.

    Chapter 11—Battle for Your Blessings

"For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the
