    About The Author

    DEDICATION

I dedicate this book to my Father God, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and sweet Holy Spirit who walks with me daily and has transformed my life for the better.

To my husband Anthony thanks for always encouraging me. I love you.

To my daughter Angelica who loves me unconditionally. I am encouraged by your wisdom and wittiness. I love you.

To my mom Earline, my only surviving parent, thank you for being a great mom who loves the Lord and lives a life of holiness. I love you.

    INTRODUCTION

Have you ever been traveling down a road and see an object in the road that causes you to stop your car? The object is so big that you will have to move it so that you can reach your destination.

Life is a journey. However, life can come with road blocks. We may come to a place in life where we are halted. We become trapped and feel stuck in a place that immobilizes us and prevents healthy progression.

The pains of trials, setbacks, heartaches, and heartbreaks are some of the fixations of life that can be road blocks.

Years ago in church, we used to have what we called testimony service. People would stand, and boldly tell the entire congregation a personal experience they endured and how they got through it. Back then, I didn’t have the courage to tell my business like that.

Releasing this book took years because I kept getting stuck. I was a mess. I didn’t want to release this book until I got totally free.

You can only overcome by the intervening and revamping preeminence of our Father God. His grace is sufficient and will be extended to all who wants to overcome anything that has come to intercept a normal and wholesome life.

My help came from God, and a tenacious will to overcome.

I wrote this book because I want to help anyone that is looking for help like I was. My experiences have been my educator, and now they are my motivator.

You will learn of my experiences and the experiences of others who shared their experiences with me. I believe we are all in this together and share commonality in one or many things. In some way or another, we are helpers of one to the other.

Do you need help overcoming some stuff? Do you feel stuck and can’t move forward?

As you go on your reading journey, you will discover help to overcome what you have been dealing with for so long. You will gain knowledge of ways to move past whatever is hindering you.

    Ready? Onto chapter one!

    CHAPTER ONE

Who Me? Addicted? No Way… Not Me!

There I sat, on a sunny Monday at the park minding my own business when all of a sudden I heard… Hey, lil mama. Could he be talking to me? I thought. How are you doing today? he asked. I answered (with an I-don’t-want-to-be-bothered-tone in my voice), I’m well. I knew right away that he was trying to become more than just a friendly guy on a sunny Monday afternoon. He began asking me all the questions one would ask if he wanted to start dating or something. As I began answering his questions, I noticed he had a brown paper bag in his hand. As I looked at the bag a little closer, I noticed there was a bottle of
