    Po and the Naughty Souls

When Po was at home with his mother, he would sing all of the time. He has the voice of an angel. But when Po is not at home, he would get to scared and could not sing. His voice would not work through the fear. But one day, while Po’s mother was talking to his first class teacher, she played on her phone. Po was singing when he thought no one was watching or listening. Po’s teacher was amazed with how beautiful Po’s voice was and how peaceful he looked when he was singing, so she thought she would help Po get over his stage fright and asked if he would sing the closing song to the Christmas play.

When Mrs Marsden asked Po to do the closing song, he was too shy to say no.

But each night, poor Po would pray that he would not have to sing in front of the whole school and all the parents.

Ceca was a Rainbow Angel, and she heard Po’s pray. You see, the Rainbow Angels could not only see humans. They could feel what they were feeling in their hearts.

You see, Ceca could feel Po’s fear, and it was very real to him. Po was terrified of singing in front of people.

When Ceca came into Po’s temple, she met Lemon Scent, Po, and a chestnut fairy, and they told Ceca all about the naughty souls and how mean they were to Po and his family.

So that night, in Po’s dreams, Ceca came and told him that it was all going to be okay. She would be with him every step of the way. The next day, when Po woke up, he could see Ceca.

Po began talking to Ceca in his head.

Ceca was quite funny, and Po began laughing and giggling all the time, which was good, for he was not worrying so much about the play.

You see, Ceca could sing like an angel too because she was an angel.

She was a Rainbow Angel who came and helped all or any creature that needed help.

Ceca would say no for them like Po! If Po got too scared and the Words would not come out of his mouth, Ceca would come up into Po’s body and sing for him to show him that there was nothing to be frightened of.

That day, when Po came home from school, he had forgotten all about Ceca and began to sing as he played at home with Flow, his little sister. Flow loved Po and followed him everywhere. She was just like his little shadow.

Ceca was playing in Po’s temple with Lemon Scent and Po’s soul when she could feel how happy he was.

Then she came out to see why.

He was standing in front of the mirror, singing his song for the play.

Ceca could see and feel that singing was what made Po so very happy. He had a smile from one side of his face to the other.

Ceca knew that Po had been given a gift to sing, and to bring happiness to others with his gift.

She knew right then and there that she was in the right place, and she was going to show all who knew Po what a wonderful gift he had.

Ceca went back into Po’s temple and told him how the naughty souls come when they hear him sing.

‘So I will help you say No! to them.’

Po replied, ‘naughty souls who are they?’

‘Oh’, Ceca replied, ‘sometimes, when people have gifts like you do to sing, some of the souls that hear you want to be able to sing like you in their bodies because they are not very good like you. They will take your soul for their body then replace your soul with a naughty soul that makes your body think and do naughty things. Then no one will like you, so no one will believe that the soul that is in them now, who looks and sounds like an angel, is really your soul because everyone just thinks you are a naughty boy, who could never be an angel. They do not believe you. They choose to believe the naughty soul they think you are instead. So when they come in and make you too scared to sing in front of people, for they do not want anyone to ever know it is your gift, not theirs. I am going to tell him No! He cannot have your destiny. God gave it to you. God wants you to be the one that brings joy to others with your songs and not him. They should leave your temple and never come back.’

Po replied, ‘Is that why I get all nervous and start to shake when I try to sing in front of people?’

‘Yes!’ Ceca replied. ‘I watched him come in, and he kept on hitting your soul, and that is why he stopped singing, and then you did too. But do not be scared, Po, for you have not only me but a gum tree fairy living in you, and she is not impressed with the naughty souls indeed. Her name is Lemon Scent, and she does not like bullies.’

‘Oh! He is a bully? Indeed.’

‘It is lucky for you and for me. She fights like a butterfly and stings like a bee.’ Ceca and Po both giggled.

Mum called Po. It was time for dinner. As he was sitting at the table, he told his mother about Ceca and Lemon Scent.

His mum said, ‘Well, I am happy Ceca and Lemon Scent have come to stay.’ She had a little chuckle to herself because she just thought Po had made some imaginary friends that would give him the courage to sing in front of people.

She was happy to play along with Po, if it meant that he would sing in the play so everyone would see how beautiful Po really was.

The naughty soul already had been going into Po, and Po had been listening to him, not knowing that the naughty soul were trying to get Poor Po into trouble so no one would like him.

People do not like it when children are naughty, and the naughty souls know this, that is why they always make children naughty when they know others are watching.

So for the next few weeks, Po practised very hard with Ceca and Lemon Scent. Every time the naughty soul would come into Po’s temple, Ceca would say, ‘No! Leave! You are not supposed to come in here without permission. You should go.’

And with Lemon Scent standing next to Ceca, with her hands on her hips, after a while, the naughty soul did not come any more.

Po was good all of the time. The teachers loved him—the other parents too.

They would ask if Po would like to come over to play.

Po’s mother noticed the change in Po. He was much happier and spent more time with his little sister Flow. Even his older sister liked having him around, but I really think it was more Honey Blossom wanting to be close to Lemon Scent.
