About this ebook

Margie is an indigenous young girl whose best friend is a wolf. Together, Margie and Wolf go on many adventures and make new animal friends. They are different, certainly, but they are all filled with love and fun. As a group, they play games together in the wild landscape of the Australian bush, but rest assured, Margie and Wolf are always side by side.

One day, they play an exciting game of tag. They round up a whole cast of characters, including Wally the wombat, who’s easy to catch; Willow the emu; Bobby and Joey the kangaroos; and even, Sally the fox, the clever one. Later, they swim in the stream and end the day by gathering with Margie’s family to hear old stories.

Bravely, Margie and Wolf show a poor, lost butterfly home. Margie learns of her people’s spirit gods, but something is not right in their quiet community. She lives in fear of being taken away from her tribe, family, friends, and the only home she has ever known—but with the help of her animal and fairy pals, the fear could go away.

As Wolf and Margie awoke, to the sound of many different birds saying good morning …

From up high in their trees, a Willy wagtail - flew down and sat with Margie, wagging his cheeky tail, and said, ‘’good morning Margie and Wolf, how are you two today?’’

‘‘Why, very well Willy’’ Wolf replied.

As they looked up to see, Willow the Emu coming their way, as Willow stopped and asked, ‘’would uselike to play a game of tag today.’’

‘Well,’ Margie said to Wolf, ‘’we have not got anything special on today, so would you like to go and play?’’

Wolf replied, ‘’ok, as long as I’m not in first today.’’

‘Willow replied, ‘’we have to say, one potato, two potato, first – whoever it falls on, is in first, for the game today.’’

As Wolf grumbled, ‘’Mm ok, where would you like to play?’’

As Willow replied, ‘’we are all going to the meadow, where the wild flowers grow, and there is a big patch of grass in the middle of the grassy plants.’’

As Margie said, ‘’that sounds like a great place to play, let’s go.’’

    Margie whispered
