Fore word: I have been writing since long and like to write poetry and fictions based on crime fantasy and adventure. My work is available on the net. Since I am out from job it is not possible for me now to get my work published through professional publishers still I have firm faith in God and hope one day I will get recognition in the writing world.

This is a work of fiction and ne resemblance with living or dead is thought about. In many of my writing I have mostly concentrated on western life style but for the first time I have tried to focus a city from the south Asian part of the world. Still I feel the story is more or less similar in every large city of the world and the life of few displaced peoples pathetic and they ought to have good life in this world. This is a very interesting fiction and hope readers will enjoy reading it. My previous works have got a very Luke warm response from the readers. And I feel I am responsible for this. I feel I have not been writing to the standards people think to be. I am in the process of improving and certainly a day will come when you will like my work. Read this story, I am sure you are going to find something new here and hope you will enjoy this work. Unfortunately I am hand to mouth and not able to come in a big way. But I have firm faith on God and He will give success to me and good stuff to read for you. Thanks and welcome to this book.

    Chapter one:

The sun was rising as usual and winds were blowing as before, the flowers were blooming as usual and stars were twinkling as ever they do, the moon was spreading its milky light on the earth and life was going as usual, for some it was muse and for some just struggle. Shera had earned in his life a small room, everything inside, well it is called a cell and this cell was a blessing for Shera as he had nothing when he was born. No parents no uncles no brothers only the road in the metropolis, the slums and often kicking of the hoodlum who used to collect his rent for sleeping on the foot path. He often in the morning was kicked by the hoodlum and abusing, mother fucker, is this road built by your father? Get up otherwise the man in khaki will arrive and I have to pay him bribe. Shera will look to the hoodlum and open his eyes and get up to wash his mouth in the nearby gutter. Shera was used to this nasty smell and luckily there was a tap from which drop by drop water used to come out. He will drink some water and get lost in the crowd. After all he has to arrange his food. He will go to some snacks shop and beg from the customers, some will abuse and some will give their left out food to him. Somehow Shera was able to manage his food but how long. He never knew that his parents had abandoned him near the gutter and Phulki who saw him lying there took her to slum. She was also hand to mouth and it was difficult for her to arrange full time meal to Shera. It was her gratitude that she brought up Shera to the extent that he can walk and search his food. And Shera as usual came out to the crowd like birds searching its grain and somehow he was able to put something inside his belly.

Phulki picked up this unknown child from the garbage and abusing the parents as bloody sinners, she took him to her house. The house made of bamboo sticks and tin pieces picked up from the garbage. Her home was a garbage dump as this child was also produce of the garbage store. Phulki who came with his son from a far village in the eastern part of the land in a hope that her life will turn better but sudden death of his son left her alone. His son died in an accident while loading heavy bags on the lorry and one of the bags fell on him. He succumbed to his injuries and the owner threw his body to Phulki saying this man was good for nothing. He was supposed to die, he said: and did not pay any compensation. Phulki cried but in this slum cries were very normal and her cries went unheard. She was left with nothing but the struggle to earn one time, bread to fill her belly. But Phulki was a brave lady, she never gave up. Her chest was full of pain but face was like stone, no expressions no complaints and believed that perhaps GOD has made her to bear pain and smile. She always met with the slum dwellers with a smile and never expressed her sorrows to others. She will roam every place in the slum and advice people to live clean. She will pick up garbage from the so called colony and curse to those who don’t care for remaining clean. Soon she became heart throb of the slum and everyone liked her. And when she brought a left out baby people were taunting her, hey Phulki you have brought the sin of the masters of the city. How long and how far you will pick up theses abandoned sins, daily there is some child thrown in the dust bin, the city is the city of sinners. They enjoy and throw the unwanted material like bear bottles in the garbage. Phulki will smile and say you idiots don’t know, these children are the children of rich and power full people of the city and you should feel proud at least that you have nothing, but you have the children of the blessed ones of the city. I am proud to have one and I have named him Shera. You will see that my Shera will become as big as those who have abandoned him. The slum dwellers used to laugh and say Phulki you are not able to manage a times food then how come this sin will turn a billionaire. Phulki will say just wait for the time and you will see that this person will change the fate of all of you. You will then say oh Phulki you were really blessed with some angel.

Phulki was busy for two years with the child and when he started walking Phulki felt relaxed. Her age was also going fast towards the end of life’s limit and was feeling the crush of the time but Shera was five years old and learned the language of the slum. Shera did not know that Phulki is not his mother but he always loved her and tried to give her all sort of care he could do in the limited resources. Shera became popular in his age group and has a leadership quality in him. He was acting as boss for his mates and he formed a group of children of his age and for any adventure they were always together. He learnt picking pocket from ustad of the slum and his group will go together on the job. In the evenings they will gather and count their earnings. Sometimes they will go blank and sometimes they will have a good catch. Phulki was not aware as what Shera is doing but these days she was getting good food and some medicines were also brought by Shera. She thought that Shera is working to some big man and earning the money from there. But she didn’t care for this as in this part of the world getting food through any means was fare.

Shera was handsome and fair skinned and looked like a son of some millionaire but the rags on his body were only an obstruction. But his appearance was very built and stout and the Ustad (Master) has sensed that this person is breed of some well to do man. The Ustad always tied a scarf around his neck and chewing betel leaves, spitting with every sentence was an experienced person and as the name suggests he was really master of many things and knowing how to earn money in this slum. Since Shera was small to talk about his experience he had to wait, but sometimes the moments pass with a flip of the eye, only sometimes the time becomes a still water of the pond no motion no tides no life. And for Shera time was passing very fast and he was growing an adult, his mother Phulki was almost at the end of her life, she was not able to move now and Shera took every care of her. But who can stop the death and it eventually came a day, Phulki was dead and Shera lost the most lovable thing in his life. Shera was alone now and living in the make shift house of Phulki. Whenever he will enter the house he will call his mother loudly but she was no more to hear him. He will come inside and sit on a broken bed and count his earnings. After counting he will throw all the catch on the floor and sleep on the bed without eating anything. He was feeling alone but time is sometimes a cure and with time he was forgetting her slowly but surely. He was turned into a handsome youth and he did not liked pick pocketing as this seemed a sordid job and he was putting weak people in trouble. He wanted to do something big. But he had no idea about the things but then he remembered the Ustad and decided to consult him. As said before the Ustad means master was really an Ustad of the things and he was full of ideas.

Ustad also felt that this is the right time to bring Shera to some important work. He was waiting for Shera to come himself. This would increase his value and Shera will not refuse to what he will guide him to do.

Shera one morning decided to visit the Ustad. Morning was the right time to meet him as Ustad was a busy person, he was engaged in many activities but Shera was not aware of his activities. Shera was a simple person and just entered into his adulthood. He was unaware of the activities in the slum, but he was sure that these people are off course not living a good life. Every one of them is struggling to make their lively hood. But he knew that many people go for authentic work in factories and shops and earn their lively hood through fair means but he was not so insane to sense that something wrong certainly goes in the slums. Nobody cares here what is going on and where is what. Every one of the colony was busy earning his food from the big dwellers of the city. Shera was fed up with pickpocketing and wanted to do some respectable job for him. In this hope he called on Ustad. Ustad was washing his mouth near the mud on the road side. Ustad has a good dwelling comparatively to the standard of the slum. When he saw Shera coming to him, he understood that the bird is coming to the cage. He smiled and welcomed Shera and asked him a cup of tea which was boiling on the Sigri (coal lit stove). Shera smiled and accepted his offer and they both took tea. After completing tea Ustad cleaned his mouth with the scarf which he always had on his shoulders. He looked to Shera and asked about his wellbeing. Shera said I am all right and I have come to take some advice from you. Well Shera this is not the right place, we will go to the gutter pipes and sit there and talk comfortably.

They went to the gutter pipes which were placed in number near the slum as the slum was situated at the end of gutter lines. They went on a pipe and sat. Shera you seem to be a good breed perhaps discard of a rich man. There are many who want to keep their sins away from the eyes of the people as they are supposed to be respected people of the society. Are they not afraid of the God? Asked the Shera, They think of God in the end of life, till end comes very near they try to live life with full of enjoyment and rarely bother about the God. They are supposedly God in the society and many people touch their feet. So in this life they are themselves God then who bloody bothers about the God. And look Shera for many, God is just an assumption and just for the assumption they don’t want to curtail their enjoyment of life. If you want to become big man in this life don’t put a brake in the name of God for God’s sake. Just forget about God and listen to me carefully what I am going to say. There are plenty of shortcuts in life to become rich and if you think of honesty and moral you will be crushed as wheat in the mill. So be prudent and pragmatic in life and do whatever brings you money, money is important my dear, it is not important what you do and how you earn. See I am doing stupid job of supplying girls to the adults of rich people and am earning some commission. But you are clever and having grit you can do still better, this job of pickpocketing is risky as the don of pick picketers comes to know that you are doing the same job in their area your life will be in trouble. You must understand that in this city if good things are not organised but bad things are very disciplined and organised. Ok forget about everything and tell me if need arise can you kill someone. Shera looked to Ustad and said why I shall kill someone. Ustad was a real ustad and said Shera are you not killed by your own parents just for a momentary enjoyment. Shera felt his mouth taste turned sour hearing this and his eyes turned red. He could not say anything and looked to the Ustad. Ustad found it the right time and said Shera you must take some training for body building and using guns of different types. Shera looked to the Ustad and said I have no money to eat full every day, how come I will go for training and body building, Are you joking Ustad? No my son I am not joking I know a person, he is my friend and he is right here in the slum. If I say to him he will certainly train you and make you strong. He will feed you and all the expenditure he will bear. Tell me this is an opportunity, are you ready for the training. Well Ustad I am ready but tell me what the hell I am going to do from this training. Yes you got the point, after training you will be creating hell on the earth. Otherwise also for us the earth is mere hell so what is wrong if you glorify this hell further? I don’t understand Ustad what you are telling about, well I am ready for the training but after that? Don’t worry for after or before just go for the training and become a man of power and grit. Rest of the things, leave on me. I will see that you get a proper job and with you I will also become somewhat rich. Shera could not understand Ustad but he believed what he was saying as he knew that Ustad is a person in this slum colony who can be relied upon. He agreed for the training and assured Ustad, he will do as he advised him.

Shera was shown the place inside the slum where there was a gym and a person with sound body and giant figure was training some youngsters for fighting skills, driving and shooting from the guns. Shera was welcomed there as Ustad had already told about him.

Shera for the first time knew that he was a rejected baby and Phulki gave him life. His love for Phulki further increased and thought her an angel living on the garbage of the city. She never told him about this and kept Shera in dark. But it was good for Shera as if he knew the real story, perhaps he would have died of shame. He was thinking of his ugly parents and thought if he finds them he will certainly going to kill them on the spot.

Any way Shera knew that he was an abandoned person and for him there is nothing but hate, hate for the people who did this crime. He turned cruel and his soft heart felt he was really born to kill people. For the first time he felt the Ustad was right and I must learn to kill. If I am killed live I will kill every one dead. He decided to go for the training and wanted to learn everything to put the nasty and hidden criminals on severe punishment. So he was busy learning what his trainer told. He proved a good catch for Ustad and the party who was training him.

Shera was learning every fighting art including using guns of different kind. He proved good at marshal art and karate as well. The trainers were providing him everything including food. Shera was mature enough to understand that no one in this world gives this much without any kind of interest. He was sure that these people want to take some risky job from me. But he became numb to the situation or rather surrendered to the situation and left everything on the future. Otherwise also his life in the slum was a waste. He knew that for the whole life he will be struggling for a piece of bread. So he thought it prudent to do something adventurous before he is dumped to the gutters. He was putting every effort to learn the things he was taught. He spared no effort for these skills and his masters were happy that Shera is going to do miracles for them. And really Shera proved a miracle. He wanted to come out of this rotten part of the world. No matter what he has to do, He believed in doing things rather than cursing the luck. He was mature enough by know and knew that luck is bloody written by our own hands. If someone snatches your piece of bread one has to snatch it back. He believed in God and has soft corner for the people underprivileged, he knew that destiny is written by God but there are many erasers around this world. And he decided to erase the destiny of many people who snatched one’s lively hood through their cunning and sweet poisonous methods. Though he was not sure as what work will be assigned to him after the training but he was sane enough to understand that it might certainly be not according to the laws of the land. He was curious to know about his future and one day he went to the Ustad to discuss him about his future.

Ustad welcomed him as usual and spitting on the floor he asked him to sit near him. Ustad was a lone person and had left his home years before. After leaving his home he never looked to his own family and was a care free sort of person. His own sons and daughters including his mother tried their best to find him but every time he evaded. But Ustad was soft by nature and every month used to send money through some friend. He kept his identity secret and never thought to return home, however he loved his sons and daughters and took their news every now and then. Shera sat beside him and Ustad asked whether he would like tea. Ustad has a gas cylinder and a gas stove so preparing tea was not difficult for him otherwise most of the people used coal and sigri as stated above and it takes time to burn and give heat to cook anything. Shera agreed for tea and in few moments Ustad was ready with the tea. While sipping tea it was Ustad who broke the silence. My son you are living in this small world of slum. Just imagine a well five feet’s deep and you are frog of the well , your world is limited, thoughts are limited to just yawn for a piece of bread, now imagine a still pond , the waters get rotten with time and fish are forced to live in mud, and now think of a river, it is a stream and flows towards the sea, falls from the hills and travel through the planes hills ravines and ultimately goes to the oceans, oceans are wide touching to the horizons and creating storms, tornado, high tides and dangerous whirling pools. You have to become an ocean creating high tides tornados storms and cyclones. So now you understand that the world outside is very big. And you should know that every man in the city is behind money, And not just money, money my dear money, huge money and reputation, status in the society and grit to feel others lower and lower. The religion in the city is same for everyone. Everyone is running behind these paper notes of the minting machine. You will surprise my dear that for this currency many forget love, relations and fear of doing unlawful activities. I don’t mean that everyone is same, but there is a world of such people who want money using any method, either religion or politics or any sort of damn thing. And they require help from the world of ours. We are trouble shooters for them. My dear you are going to trouble shoot and nothing. Whenever the other world feels some danger from some corner they come to our world. We are working as mechanics and technicians for that part of the world. It is not us to decide how the trouble must be removed but they decide and tell us and we do what they need and in return we get huge money. After all as I said money is everything. This is bloody money which is angry with the people in the slums. Otherwise why they will smell the bloody shit of the whole city. Don’t worry you are a man of muscle and you will prove a good trouble shooter. Never bother if you don’t do that job then your life will turn like the rotten shit in the gutters and your smell will dispel people from you. If you want fragrance and good quality of deodorants and want to live life with luxury and high esteem and pride, then come on, don’t bother for what you have to do. Your job will be told to you once you are ready for the job. My dear for us life is a risk and I hope you don’t fear taking risks. You are a strong man and I hope very soon the whole city will know you as a respectable person. Only thing is you have to do your job with high proficiency and never leave any witness. Shera understood from the words of Ustad that it is a job involving risk, but he shook his head and said: well ustad I am not a fuckhead and I don’t fear any shit. I will do what is asked me to do. I will not let you down. I understand the importance of money. And you know that I am an abandoned child without any religion so I adopt this religion of money. To get it I will do any bloody shit thing.

By the time they had finished tea and Shera also knew some of his coming job. He thought perhaps he will be asked to do some illegal things, but who bloody fears of doing illegal. So there is no point worrying about the future. I will make my future with these hands. Shera said good bye to Ustad and Ustad assured him of any kind of guidance he needed, he is always welcome. Your first assignment will come from me. I had asked them to use me to tell your first assignment. So don’t worry before you start your first job, my guidance and blessings will be with you. Shera left Ustad and went straight to his dwelling.

Shera could not sleep this night properly as he was certainly going against the teachings of Phulki. Phulki his first and last university always taught him to be honest and maintain dignity. She used to tell him that you are from a big family but then I just ignored this word, but now I understand what she meant saying me from a big family. Shera loved Phulki and it was difficult for him to go against her teachings. But Phulki is not there to witness what he was going to do but the soul of Phulki will turn insane if I do killings and earn money. But he felt he was trapped and there was no way out to come free. He knew that these people are of certain grit and if I refuse they can go to the any extent, perhaps they may try to kill me also. Never mind Shera took turn on the bed and said to himself, let what come I am there to face, Shera had made some
