ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
First, and foremost, I would like to thank God, from Whom all blessings flow, for Who He is and what He has done. Without Him, I am nothing, and with Him, all things are possible.
I would also like to thank my entire family for their love, support , and encouragement while writing this book. When I felt like giving up, they were right there cheering me on to the finish line, especially Marlene.
I have to give a shoutout to all the friends, near and far, that took the time out of their busy lives to read and give me feedback on my poetry. Especially my Facebook friends.
Last, but certainly not least, I thank the staff at Xlibris Publishing for their professional work and support in helping me put this book together. God bless you all.
INTRODUCTION
I knew I had to write a book of poetry when I wrote a poem for my mother many years ago . I asked her how she liked the poem (Thanks Mama) and she said she liked it so much that she took it to church and shared it, and many people wanted a copy.
I also knew I had to write a book of poetry when a few people read some of my poems and said they brought tears to their eyes. One lady read the poem (Virtuous Woman) and said when she dies, she wants the poem engraved on her tombstone.
In these days and times, many of us are so busy with our lives that we don’t take the time to feed our spirits and souls. FRUIT FOR YOUR SPIRIT may not be a full course meal , but it’s good good spiritual fruit that will get you through the day.
If you have eyes, you will cry, if you have a heart, you will feel, and if you have ears, you will hear. May God bless and encourage your heart as you read each poem.
All proceeds will be donated to Saving Josh Autism.
A BIRDS EYEVIEW
As an eagle lands and stirs up its nest,
God stirs us up and wants our best,
He hovers over us and spreads out His wings,
For our protection and to block the evil things,
The Master covers us with His feathers,
No matter what the season, no matter what the weather,
As the Falcon scopes its prey from high above,
The Lord guards His own like innocent doves,
His eye is on the sparrow and He watches over you,
With the accuracy of a hawk and a birds eye view.
A CHAIN REACTION
Like fifty dominos that are
