About this ebook
Catherine Cavanaugh
Cathy was born Holland, Michigan. She had two older brothers and a wonderful mom and dad. She has been married for thirty-two years to her husband Robert and their twins, Jacob and Juliette. They are now twenty-six years old. She and the twins travelled with her husband’s job to Australia and Japan. Cathy’s professional life was teaching special education for twenty-six years children with learning disabilities and emotionally impairments. Teaching children was the joy of her life that she also taught English as a second language in Christian schools in Japan. Cathy’s love for writing Christian poetry came from her prayer times, where God would give her ideas for the poems. She has attended a few different churches in her home town in Michigan and has been very active in her Women of Faith groups. Cathy gives glory to God for this her first book and said, “I dedicate this first book to my children, to my husband, and to my Lord.” Cathy believes that poetry is a way to draw people nearer to God and her hope is that the poetry will be God’s seasoning grace in the life of her readers.

A Change of Attitude
Sometimes life appears pointless with all its strain…
We huddle with the masses and hear of someone suffering in great pain…
It brings us back into perspective, that our life has been blessed…
A song of praise comes into our hearts, when we realize we are truly well dressed…
We gain you Jesus and those garments of praise…
We gain you Jesus the Author of our Life the Finisher of our Faith…
The need to look at others less fortunate than you is a tool that God uses to keep us humble and grateful, too…
What my Hands Have Done
When I was young I used to mold with clay…
I ran and Jumped with a rope each day…
I imagined I was strong and had power within…
Never did I guess where I came from, or what I was yet to learn about sin…
I never thought that I would repent all in one turn…
I was free to read, write and grow in grace,
Thanks to a wonderful brother and his wife…
I learned that there was so much knowledge and wisdom I never had learned in all of my life…
I saw a picture in my head of God’s unfathomable world and so many souls to reach…
I prayed for the whole world to be saved, knowing God heard all my prayers…
Prayers for the missionaries around the world, they have so many to teach…
I have travelled a lot around the world where I began to see how big our God
