SHARON R ADAMS grew up in Ngaruawahia, a small town in the North Island, New Zealand. She comes from an extended family of many. Married into the military life, which saw many wives & partners left alone to raise their children whilst their husbands were serving the country or away on exercises. The family migrated to Australia in 1997 to give their sons broader opportunities. Sadly, their dad passed away in 2001. Sharon’s days are spent working long hours, then in her downtime, traveling as often as possible to see all her grandchildren in both Australia and New Zealand. “My sons inspired me to write this story during a time when one of them was constantly being suspended from High School for fighting. It was difficult for newcomers from other countries to blend in in those earlier years. Through encouraging him to walk away from trouble in Year 9, he gallantly went on to graduate from Year 12. All four sons are doing well in their lives today. I have eight grandchildren whom I treasure greatly”. Family is precious. Family is forever. This story is dedicated to my own four sons to show them my gratitude for growing into fine young men and proving to society that being a teenager does not mean they lose their respect for themselves or their parents. Harder still, is being a teenager with only one parent to guide them through life and its offerings. For those parents out there who feel that it is too late to reach out to their loved ones, trust in your heart. It is never too late. Reaching Out tells you that there is always hope. Never give up.

CHAPTER ONE
Babies Cries
O nce the child is born, you have become parents with a responsibility for the rest of your lives. From this day forth, your child needs to feel loved and be cared for in every safe and knowingly possible way. Many parents are ignorant to the fact not through choice but simply because they had no idea. This story is about children growing up and knowing through their upbringing that there is a right and a wrong.
When a baby is born the first taste of satisfaction from life it gets is being close to its mothers bosom and feeling the warmth of her touch. This is one of the reasons why our children always turn to their mothers for that sense of security no matter what age they are. It was mum who first held me close and made me feel safe even though I was a newborn with no idea of what lay ahead of me in the future.
The child only knows to wake up on
