Help your Baby Sleep So That You Can Rest Too! A Complete Guide to Baby’s Sleep Patterns, and how Parents Should Make Use of It

About this ebook
What is the one thing that most new mothers are worried about? What keeps new mothers awake in the middle of the night when they are clearly exhausted?
It's because their babies refuse to establish a proper sleep pattern. Lucky are the mothers whose baby sleeps properly from the very beginning. But for most others, months of sleepless nights and exhausted days follow the birth of a new baby. While the whole family rejoices the new addition to their home, it is usually the mother who has to go through the painful routines of staying awake with the baby all night.
While newborns sleep for most of the day (and night), a slightly older baby can refuse to close their eyes for a single second during the night, and sleep through the day. This can be quite exhausting for the mother who has to go to work in the morning or thousands of chores all day.
Besides, how can you deal with your baby's changing sleeping patterns as they grow up? What type of sleeping arrangement should you have in your home? When is the right time to move your child to their own room? How many naps do they take during the day as a toddler?
These are the kind of questions you might face in the coming years. Our book: Help your Child Sleep, so that you can rest too!" deals with everything related to your baby's – and later, your toddler's – sleep habits. It can help you with ideas of your own rest when your baby has trouble sleeping, and later with any questions you may have about their sleep patterns and nap times.
In short, if you have any kind of questions about your child's sleep, this is the book for you.

Help your Baby Sleep So That You Can Rest Too! A Complete Guide to Baby’s Sleep Patterns, and how Parents Should Make Use of It - Jennifer N. Smith
Introduction
Newborns don’t need much from us – except maybe our constant attention and care!
They need to be fed and changed regularly, but other than that, all they seem to do, is sleep throughout the day, and night. However, it is usually the mother, or the primary caregiver, who knows exactly how much looking after a newborn need. For a person who has no demands except the fundamental physical ones, taking care of a baby can be quite a handful. It’s almost a fulltime job that leaves you exhausted. Ask a mother and she can tell you better.
Sleep is one thing that babies – even the most well-behaved ones – can have problems with, not that you can blame them. You are bringing them out from the most comfortable place on Earth to somewhere that’s messy, noisy and full of disturbances for them. They have trouble adjusting to this new environment and it hampers their sleep – something that’s extremely important for their growth. This in turn, hampers their mother’s sleep patterns, which is also needed for their own recovery. As a result, neither the mother nor the child is well-rested or happy.
As the mother, you need to sleep well. If not well, you need to sleep at least adequately so that you are not sleep deprived and exhausted throughout the day. Whether you plan to return to work after your maternity leave is over or if you are planning to stay at home, sleep is important for your own health. And for your mental sanity. A well-rested mother is a happy mother who can take care of their child; a sleep-deprived mother won’t be able to do either. It is important that your baby sleeps well, but just as important that you get your rest, too.
This book deals with both – baby’s sleep and mommy’s rest. I’m not going to pretend that you can have a whole night’s sleep like you did before your baby was born. That goes out of the window during pregnancy, even before the baby comes into the picture, thanks to heartburn and your oddly shaped baby bump. Proper whole-night
sleep won’t make an appearance for some years now, you can be sure of that. However, what you can do, is to make sure that you are at least well rested to face the day and take care of your baby.
My book "Help your Baby Sleep: So That You Can Rest Too!" is all about baby and Mommy sleep patterns: how much sleep to expect at what age, how to incorporate your rests while your baby is napping, how to get your child to sleep through the night, how many naptimes to initiate at what age, and much more. In short, everything you needed (or maybe already knew) about sleep. This book can be a help in advance if you are an expecting parent, or if you are struggling with your baby’s sleep patterns, or if you are a parent whose partner is having trouble coping with sleeping because of
