About this ebook
I have attempted to include a broad range of material with pieces ranging from romantic to humorous, from reflective and patriotic to spiritual.
It is my hope that these pieces will hold meaning to the reader and in a way brings peace to a troubled mind.

Patrick A. Whisler
Patrick A. Whisler was born in the Southwest but spent most of his life in Kansas. Mr. Whisler has written for most of his life and can’t remember a time when a pen was not in his hand. Mr. Whisler is fond of saying he writes from his heart not from his head and has used both his time served in the military as well as his experiences growing up to write many of his pieces. He has on occasion taken a conversation he had with a total stranger to pen a piece in his head and then transcribe it to paper. He will write about what he sees in life even from a billboard if the words on the sign spark a thought in his head. He has had the opportunity to observe people in different settings and has at times had only a paper napkin to pen his words and he believes some of his best work has come from those settings. This is the first in what is hoped to be a series of books that will give the reader an inside view of Mr. Whisler's thoughts and emotions which run deep and flow freely onto the page. “The heart and soul are what makes a good writer” Mr. Whisler believes and he hopes to paint a picture in the readers mind and hopefully touch a special place in their heart with his words.

Foreword and Dedication
When I finally decided to publish this book it was after a lot of soul-searching and reflection within myself. It seems I have always written. Words to me are the most precious gift that can be given. Words are emotions, thoughts, and at times reflect decisions and the consequence of the those decisions. When I penned the first word of my very first piece, it was for no one but for me. The love, dedication, loyalty, support, and belief in me finally convinced me to share these words.
It is my hope and it will be my honor if those who
