Don’t Fear
All the King’s hounds
And all the King’s men
Will watch you tonight
As you lay down
Tucked deep into sleep
Don’t fret nor shiver
Don’t worry nor fear
Your delicate reflection
Is caught in the glare
As all the King’s hounds
And all the King’s men
Will watch you tonight
As you lay down
Tucked deep into sleep.

Storms Know
There are dreams
Which are old
There are tales
Remaining untold
There are wishes
That aren’t shared
Yet the storms
They always know
As the rains
Spatter wet hopes
Gardens of flowers
Rattle their gossip
Ancient trees sway
Dropping autumn leaves
Leaves are tears
Weeping for love.

Starving
I need to eat
A puddle of lint
Or halo of gold
I haven’t a choice
It’s what’s served
Served up to me
Please hold me
I’m starving
Don’t you see?
Needful wishes
Wishes to lashes
Cold and cutting
Off with the head!
Take some pills
Slow motion sawing
It’s never quick
That isn’t fair
It isn’t right
I need to eat
Please hold me
I’m starving
Don’t you see?

Crackerjacks
Sweetie-Baby
What’s that?
A present?
A treasure?
’m afraid
To open it
It’s the first
And the last
In the middle
ull of words
Crying love
Out a box
Of Crackerjacks
Don’t you ever
Love me —
Like that
You already have
I’m so sorry
Now you’re gone
Like it EASY
Lite-Brite dreams
Caught all up
In your teeth
You got it out
Out a box
Of Crackerjacks
That’s all —
You have.

The Beginning
In the beginning all false prophets dance and speak in lovely signs and tones. They reel their target in within their dance. Neither variety is typically transparent in this beginning. The impatient variety is charming, sweet, generous, thoughtful, polite, old-fashioned, gentlemanly, but his waltz cannot last long. He may be rebuffed or disappointed a few or perhaps several or so times while still maintaining his façade; however, a few pushes more and he will reveal himself. Vail voluntarily ripped from his face, he will likely nonetheless remain self-confident, boastful and it will all be the target’s fault. He will be offended, incensed, and self-righteous. The extreme of this type is usually a lost soul that the target cannot mend or save. Perhaps he was what his façade looks like now once upon a time – maybe.
However, now he is out of touch and out of step with what he is and what he does. He is unable to comprehend how his demands are too quick, too prying, too invasive, and too fast. He cannot comprehend how his want or wants could be reasonably rebuffed or disappointed or that maybe there is something vital outside of his WANT right now. He has a short fuse and he cannot conceal it. The target of this version of false prophet may potentially be somewhat fortunate as this variety will not be able to tow the line of his words, sweet talk, promises for long in a reality where the target is not readily easily available to him without complications, delays, brakes to what he wants and feels he is entitled to above all else.
For the target who is easily available to him with no complications or brakes this variety will be able to keep his underside under wraps until it is possibly too late for the target to be enlightened prior to investment of too much. The backlash in the latter case is a harsh reverberating shock with the added risk of his retaliation when she finally sees and attempts to leave or flee, if she still can without too much loss. This variety dismantles, traumatizes, damages and may destroy by accident more than by callous purposeful intent. However, he may not linger long enough after he has had the last word or the final strike to survey the reality and even if he does see the rubble, he will likely blame the target in full.
The less foreseeable type of false prophet comes in the form of a mature sophisticated sociopath or sociopath type. These charmers, who are typically indeed charismatic, manicured, experienced and smooth are commonly able to purposely maintain their facades for however long it takes to obtain what they want. They choose a target or several targets who have assets, personal and/or otherwise, worth capturing, obtaining, controlling, owning, strip mining and typically dismantling and demolishing thereafter to ensure the target cannot recover and take back anything the predator has strip mined and wants to keep. These varieties are ruthless and have no capacity for love, empathy, sympathy, caring, remorse, etc. They have no sincerely emotions at all; however, they do have a need for stimulation, power and control. Moreover, they are able to experience a sense of outrage over being insulted or disrespected (i.e. defied, disobeyed, or being subjected to a loss of power or unacceptable loss of total control). There are commonly few or no red flags with this type of pure predator. When he demolishes a target he simply moves onto the next one in line as to this kind of perpetrator people are viewed as literally nothing other than supply sources.
Other than this there are all the varieties in between. The world is not perfectly black and white – there are gray areas. So is it also with false prophets. There are many gray shades of mess and varying degrees of danger. Some degrees of danger are physical while others are emotional, mental, financial, medical, etc. The bottom line is that no false prophet can be counted on and all will strike in one manner or another when the opportunity presents itself whether this is their purposeful intent or not – the end result and the lesson(s) for the target remain similar or potentially worse depending on how much that target was counting on him to be what he represented and what the consequences are when he is just not.

Marissa met Clayton via a close girlfriend, Tina, who had a horse boarded out at the same facility where Marissa’s horses were kept. Clayton and Tina had attended the same wealthy mega-church in an upper class area of town for numerous years and thus Tina reportedly knew Clayton well. Marissa was close to thirty, an innocent nonetheless due to her history in an old-fashioned family, her medical complications and the reality that she was a full-time straight-A student and a professional in the horse world combined. Tina played match maker when she maneuvered Clayton over to meet Marissa one afternoon at the barn.
Marissa was rather taken with Clayton from the very beginning when she saw him walk into the barn isle in a nice button up shirt, well-fitting blue jeans, Australian boots and a long black Australian Outback style weather proof storm coat. Clayton was allegedly equally taken with Marissa as she was a lovely girl with the figure and face of a classic runway model. This is how the relationship began and in those early days Clayton never missed an opportunity to practice his skills as a perfect gentleman, opening doors, carrying Marissa’s saddle and saddle pad, helping out, etc. Clayton also took Marissa out to restaurants as well as outdoor events, which she enjoyed. In addition to this, he wove himself into the intricate strands of Marissa’s life, making himself irreplaceable.
When Marissa’s doctor diagnosed her with additional serious medical concerns, it was Clayton that took Marissa to a costly internal specialist, natural doctor and nutritionist and paid for expensive tests as well as supplements that were equally pricey. Whatever Marissa needed, Clayton made certain he got it for her. When Marissa contracted infections and at a particular juncture pneumonia Clayton rushed into place to perform as the ideal nurse as he took care of her s if she was his entire world. There were no hiccups in Clayton’s façade. At a certain point Clayton proposed marriage and Marissa accepted. The wedding plans were a runaway swirl of Marissa’s family and Clayton taking over with all the plans and arrangements. The wedding itself as well as the receptions thereafter was a luxury affair where an insane amount of money via Marissa’s parents was spent.
The first red flag with Clayton occurred as he and Marissa were crossing the resort parking lot to attend the actual reception after the wedding. They were strolling across the parking lot with a group of wealthy or otherwise successful friends from Marissa’s side of the equation. There was a brand new bright red Ferrari parked in the lot and as the group walked past it Clayton openly commented on what a beautiful car that was. One of those friends from Marissa’s side of the world teasingly asked Clayton if he liked his wedding gift. This was stated with a straight face and Clayton was overjoyed. The friend was surprised Clayton took the bait so promptly and he then corrected his error and apologized, explaining he’d only been joking. The second red flag also occurred at the wedding reception when Clayton expressed muted annoyance at not being able to stay the night at the resort in the honeymoon suite instead of simply heading home after the prolonged resort event since Marissa would be more comfortable at home.
The third red flag occurred months after the marriage when it finally came time to embark on the honeymoon.
Marissa wanted to go to Disneyland and spent several days or a week near the park; however, Clayton did not want to spend the $10,000 cash he had received from Marissa’s father. Clayton wanted to pocket all of the money and simply drive to his sister’s home in a nearby State where he and his new bride would end up sleeping in sleeping bags on the living room floor while his sister and her husband played the roll of the hosts. In this Clayton’s sister and her husband footed the bill for any meals out, though they were few and far between.
Through this stage of the marriage Clayton kept the male room mates from his church connections in his house, now shared with his new wife Marissa, and he gradually maneuvered Marissa into a position of simply an accessory when and if convenient. Marissa took care of the room mates as they lived like swine, the house and within less than four months after the nuptials Clayton could reportedly no longer afford Marissa’s nutritionist, supplements, specialized diet which she needed not to become ill and likely die as well as her other medical bills. Marissa who was told by her doctors that she could not work, had to nonetheless get a job to pay for her medical care, medications and the food she needed in order to survive.
These were red flags indeed, but Clayton did not place any of them on display until after the wedding ceremony. The initial flags were relatively small, intermittent and easily explained away. The red flags slightly thereafter were more serious; however, when someone one loves says he cannot pay for things the natural reaction of a sincere new spouse is to believe him and try to find a way to make it work out anyway. This is what Marissa did. In between these red flags and some well-spaced out other ones Clayton explained away, all after the nuptials, Clayton remained a seemingly sincere and stable spouse. It was not until the marriage had been in progress for over a year that Clayton unraveled all at once with a bang. At that point it was far too late for Marissa to escape without massive life-long damages due to the time and opportunity Clayton choose to detonate Marissa’s world forever from that point on. There truly were no clear or indicative warnings of what was to come as Clayton’s previous mistakes
’ and short-comings
did not demonstrate clear deception, loss of temper, serious overt character flaws, etc. Prior offenses committed were things one would expect a new husband to perhaps do because no one is an experienced spouse right from the first days, weeks or months.
What Clayton did; however, when he lowered the boom was a rapid succession two-in-one punch maneuver in which he participated in the murder of Marissa’s most beloved as well as prize expensive show quality pet (i.e. her opus). Clayton was able to skate free of revealing his abusive personality and intent from Marissa through this event by the manner in which things happened – the death of the pet looked like a tragic mistake or accident when in fact it was not. Nonetheless, this occurred while Marissa was in the last portion of her first pregnancy. A month or slightly over a month later when she was in hard labor in the hospital with severe complications Clayton suddenly turned severely abusive. There had been absolutely no signs whatsoever that Clayton could flip that switch. This was a man who prior to these two rapid succession events had seemed like a good guy. He had also appeared to be a man incapable of such cruelty as well as such behavior that would likely lead to the death of his own unborn child – this was a man who teared-up when watching the sad parts of movies like The Lion King because he was a complete Teddy Bear of a fellow. Thus there was no red flag to indicate Clayton in truth was a narcissistic sociopath.
It is not possible to fully solve the mystery of why Clayton choose the most inappropriate moment of all to show his true colors except to state the reality of how sociopaths and sociopath types as well as narcissists with extreme forms of the disorder process events. The time Clayton chose to rip off and discard the proverbial gloves (i.e. the façade) was certainly a time when Marissa was defenseless. She could not fight him, stop him, walk away from him or the situation, etc. He had a helpless cornered captive audience and victim who could do nothing to defend herself or strike against him for what he was doing. In addition, events such as both of these, in play at the time, tend to happen at unplanned moments or unpredictable moments within the victim’s range of suspicions or thoughts – the victims don’t see it coming. Oftentimes these moments are not at a fun or desirable time for all if any of the parties involved. However, it must be noted that there are indeed sociopaths/sociopath type personalities that actually reap tremendous pleasure from these moments/scenarios that provide ideal opportunities. When Marissa’s beloved pet was murdered Clayton managed to recover, slightly at least, by again manipulating things so that it looked like the death had been a tragic error or accident. When the second event began Clayton had no need to cover up what he was doing as Marissa could not escape while this was going on.
What is known or confirmed in that part of what outraged or offended Clayton about when Marissa went into labor was that it was first while he was about to get on the carpool shuttle to come home after work. This was not convenient timing and he never told the shuttle driver there was a problem at home. When he finally arrived home he proceeded to calmly look for and then with an irritated attitude leisurely prepare himself a nice dinner. The reality that Marissa had called him from the doctor’s office a number of hours prior to tell him she was in trouble, hemorrhaging, contracting, in apparent pre-term labor and her physician told her it was a dire emergency meant nothing to Clayton.
