    THE CHURCH

Lighthouse for Jesus Ministries is a church amidst the sugarcane fields—sweet, right? Wrong. Be not deceived: the messages are anything but sweet and watered down. Are you looking for fire? Well, you’ve found it! There are no pacifiers, and there is milk for the new babes, but everyone is served the meat of the Word.

This church amidst the cane fields was started by a husband and wife team, Donnie Bolden Sr. and Anna Bolden, inside of their home, in their living room. They moved outside to their carport and then to various buildings until they moved amidst the cane fields.

God called many husband-and-wife teams in the Bible, and he gave us a few examples, such as Priscilla and Aquila.

Romans 16:3-5 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: Who have for my life laid down their own necks: Unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles Likewise greet the church that is in their home. (Romans 16:3–5)

Some say God did not call a woman to preach.

Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. (Galatians 3:28)

Jesus called both male and female to preach his word. Jesus uses men and women for the purpose of spreading the gospel and revealing who he is.

The Lord called the Boldens as a team, much as he did Priscilla and Aquila, in their home, where they engaged in breaking bread, teaching, ministering, delivering others, and saving souls. They have been chosen to oversee the flock together. In this husband-and-wife team, the man of God is apostle Pastor Donnie Bolden Sr., and the wife is overseer Prophetess Anna Bolden.

The first encounter they had with God was at a birthday party for Pastor Donnie’s mother. God told Prophetess Anna to get off the dance floor and go home. When they walked into their home, they found Bible pages all over the floor—but they did not own a Bible.

As with Priscilla and Aquila, their church was in their home. Some people think that unless you have a large, beautiful building with many members, God did not call you. But God did call them for his purpose. Anna Bolden started off as pastor, but when God said her husband, Donnie, was ready to be pastor, she stepped down and became an overseer and prophetess. God called them to pastor and oversee the flock; they pastor together, and they are one.

And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? (Romans 10:14)

A prophet prophesied that this husband-and-wife team of apostle Pastor Donnie and Prophetess Anna Bolden would minister together and be as one in speaking the Word of God to his people.

They had been ministering for years as evangelists before they met a prophet in 1978. Prophetess Anna was saved in 1974, and they traveled from place to place with the gospel. The prophet called Prophetess Anna and Pastor Donnie to come to Texas to get anointed as pastors. The prophet said Prophetess Anna would be overseer, and Pastor Donnie would be pastor. The prophet said not to let anyone separate the team God was calling.

The prophet told Prophetess Anna she would run into many problems as prophetess and overseer because she was a woman and was black.

Prophetess Anna and Pastor Donnie began ministering and stood on the Word of God.

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. (Acts 20:28)

God did not give just anyone his flock he’d purchased with his own precious blood. When Prophetess Anna said yes to the vision of the sheep who were hurting and rejected by others, she said yes to God, promising she would take care of them. Her husband agreed to do the will of God as well.

Because God called them, their work must be easy and all smooth sailing, right? No! When God calls you to do something, there is a struggle, and you have to press forward to endure. There is often much fasting, prayer, and intercession, and seeking the face of God is required.

You’re hated, despised, misunderstood, and challenged by many. God has called the prophetess and pastor to pray for many people they have never met.

Many people who are at Lighthouse had their names called out before they came. They know many people by the Spirit of God, not according to the flesh.

Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh. (2 Corinthians 5:16)

Pastor Donnie and Prophetess Anna are called to pastor many people who are not part of the body of Christ yet. Many of the people God shows them in the spirit to pray for are from other nations.

The body of Christ is made up of remnants scattered all over the world, but they are called to be part of the body of Christ. Most of these people are rejected by others, but they promised God they would take what no one else wants.

Some say we are a cult; there is a difference between instructing people according to the Word and the Spirit of God and instructing them according to the flesh.

If people do not have an answer, they will seek the Lord until he gives them an answer.

God has given us free will—the same choice he gave Adam and Eve. Anyone who proclaims the teachings of Jesus will tell you that you have free will. However, there are consequences to our choices, and Lighthouse for Jesus Ministries cannot and does not force anyone to obey God. There is a heaven and a hell; it is your choice to make.

The Boldens have taken on the responsibility of shepherds to feed and guide you according to the Word of God.

This husband-and-wife team has dedicated themselves, their children, and everything they have to God.

Through many years of prayer, fasting, obedience, and seeking the face of God, they have been able to reach the place they are in God. Whatever God has required of them, they have done.

They have given of their time to counsel others or pray them through to the Holy Ghost. They have helped others cast out their demons. They pray for the sick and believe in God for miracles and for healing. They have traveled to revivals to minister, paying their own way and leaving money behind. They do not ask for anything, except the Spirit of God says to receive the money.

God has tested them to the breaking point, and there is nothing God has asked or required of them that they have refused to do.

Their whole life is in God and dedicated to the service of God. There is nothing worth more than their salvation or eternal life with Jesus. They want to see as many people as they can receive salvation and eternal life.

God tested the pastor and prophetess when he sent them drug dealers, alcoholics, prostitutes, murderers, liars, cutthroats, and others running from trouble. They allowed these people to live in their home until Christ was formed in them. They had young children, but they believed God would protect them.

Many people have asked the pastor and prophetess to open churches in other states, but they’ve refused. People have given them checks and keys to houses and promised to give them everything they needed if they pastored their church.

The Boldens have torn up a lot of checks; they are going to continue to obey God’s will. People have offered them money to allow them to take over Lighthouse, and again, they said no.

People do not realize what it took them to get where they are today.

It takes much fasting, prayer, and complete obedience to God. They have made a covenant with God.

    We Are a Prophetic Ministry

We are Lighthouse for Jesus Ministries; we are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20).

We operate in all the gifts of the Spirit: twelve to the prophets and nine to the church (1 Corinthians 12:28–31; Ephesians 4:11–12).

We have a school of the prophets, and we have both male and female prophets. They need to be instructed.

Apostle Donnie and Prophetess Anna instruct them according to the Spirit of God. Prophetess Anna has trained many prophets not only in their ministry but also in other ministries as well.

And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan. (2 Kings 2:7)

And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and they bowed themselves to the ground before him. (2 Kings 2:15)

The prophets recognized that the mantle of Elijah rested on Elisha, so they bowed themselves to him—they would now obey Elisha, as he would be led by the Spirit of God.

The prophet with the mantle has the vision and the leadership role. Prophetess Anna has the mantle and the vision and, thus, the leadership role.

As apostle, Pastor Donnie has a leadership role: he is sent to do the mission of the Father, and the Father has created a foundation that Apostle Donnie has to hold.

Apostles carry authority and power because they were given the mission. Pastor Donnie has the mission from heaven to which prophets come into submission. Prophets must submit to their mission, and once prophets submit, they can be commissioned. Then they can go forth and do the work God tells them to do, operating under an apostolic mantle.

The apostle is the stabilizer. Apostle Donnie and Prophetess Anna work together to fulfill their purpose in God.

Prophets were called to be alongside of the apostles; prophets have perception, while apostles have perspective. Prophets have visions, while apostles have missions.

Prophets know what will happen, while apostles know why—so their abilities work together.

God has appointed prophets second in rank in the spiritual government; apostles are first. They operate under the apostolic mantle together.

Prophets are to encourage the apostles in the building of the kingdom.

God has a purpose, and he will do what his purpose is. Then we will be commissioned to do the great work.

    The Apostles’ Doctrine

Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer; and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endured with power from on high. (Luke 24:46–49)

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. (Acts 1:8)

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38)

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. (Galatians 1:9)

And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief cornerstone. (Ephesians 2:20)
