About this ebook

Are you one of the chosen? Scripture states that many are called but few are chosen (Matthew 22:14).

Abraham was chosen.

Samuel was chosen.

Deborah was chosen.

King David was chosen.

Queen Esther was chosen.

John the Baptist was chosen.

Mary, the Mother of Jesus, was chosen.

Paul was chosen.

The chosen can be found throughout the Scriptures, from Genesis to Revelations, along with countless others who have been chosen for this generation. These individuals are relentless, driven, and in hot pursuit of the glory of God, desiring only to fulfill the will of God.

Have you been called and chosen for your generation? Have you been chosen to carry the end-time anointing and do exploits in Jesus name? If your answer is yes, then add your name to the list of the chosen.

But ye are a chosen generation (I Peter 2:9).

    About the Author

To all those chosen by God in these last days. You know who you are. Even as a child you knew something was different about you, and you knew you had a call on your life. You may not have known what it was, but you felt God’s pull.

I also dedicate this book to an anointed man of God, my husband, Alvin. He is my partner in life and in ministry. He has supported me throughout the ministry. Being one of the first few women to preach the gospel in the Baptist faith, the battle was hard at times. My husband, a true man of God, supported me and I honor him as my covering. I love you, Alvin, and thank God He chose you for me.

To my sons, LeBron and Austin, you are a gift from God. I love you with all my heart. You both have been such blessings to me and your father. I praise God that He chose you to be my sons, and I am excited to see what God has in store for you. Both of you are so gifted and anointed by God, and you should know you too have been chosen for such a time as this.

    ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Chosen: Thank you to those God chose to influence my life and who helped shape and mold me into the woman of God I am today.

My Grandfather: Luther Felix Saffell (1898–1981) had the biggest influence on my life. It was through his life that I developed a relationship with the Father. He taught me to pray and gave me the passion to have a relationship with God. I watched him live what he preached. He was real! He was a true example of a genuine man of God.

My Mother: I praise God for my mother and that she allowed me to see the fire of God in her. It caused me to want the fire of the Holy Ghost. At the time I did not know what it was, but I knew I had to have it, with the evidence of speaking in tongues. When I was twelve years old, she prophesied to me that God had called me to be a servant of God. He called me His servant, and I was honored. She said God told her I was called to serve Him even while I was in her womb. Thank you for obeying God and for being my mother.

My Dad: I thank you for loving me and for always being there. Whenever I need you, you were there. During the teaching lectures, I was listening. Thanks to you and Mom for teaching and shaping me into the woman I am today. PS: Thanks for teaching me to build things, and now I have my own toolbox.

Pat Reed: My Sunday school teacher, thank you for teaching me the Word and to all my other teachers at Calvary Baptist Church in Lenoir City. To Pastor Hicks, who preached the Word with all he had, and to all those at Calvary Baptist who loved me. My bus driver and outreach workers, you taught me how to evangelize.

Elder Ovit G. Pursley: My pastor and father in the ministry, thank God for a man who taught the Word of God. It was through his teaching that I received a greater level of understanding and wisdom of the Word. He also taught me how to minister under the anointing and use the gifts of the Spirit. What great wealth I learned from this true man of God.

Elder Irene McCowan: We talk about having mothers in the church, but many do not act like it. Elder Irene McCowan is a true mother. She has taken so many under her wing and taught them the things of God. She loves unconditionally; she speaks the truth under the anointing and stands on the Word of God. I thank God for allowing her to be in my life. She has truly been a friend, mentor, and prayer partner. She could not help but mother me and my family as well. Thank you for being faithful. Truly Mother Irene is a woman of God whom God has called and chosen for this last hour of grace. Elder Irene is also one of the founders of Greater Deliverance Ministries and serves as assistant pastor.

Dr. James N. Upton, My Father: How many people are blessed to have two fathers? Such an inspiration you have been in my life. You always know just what to say to edify and to exhort. I always enjoy our long talks about how we would change the world. Thank you for giving me the passion for learning and teaching others. Thank you for being my friend as well.

Rev. Willis: From Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Clinton, Tennessee, Rev. Willis is no longer with us. When I first started preaching in 1989, he gave me a wealth of knowledge and wisdom of his experiences in the ministry. Rev. Willis was always just a phone call away, and he always made time for me. He truly was a man of God. To the Willis family, you were given a jewel.

Dr. Lester Sumrall: He prayed for me and shared with me how to keep my healing and my marriage, and his teaching material, sermons, and lectures still keep feeding me.

Smith Wigglesworth: I am still growing from his books.

Rod Parsley: He was my pastor when I had no pastor, and his ministry took me to another level in Christ. Praise God for his mother, Sis. Evelyn Parsley. What a blessing.

Benny Hinn: I have never met him in person, but he has taught me and is still teaching me how to walk and live in the anointing of God. What a mighty man of God who has been faithful, called, and chosen for such a time as this. I do not think many really know just how in touch with the Master you really are. Praise God for what you do. I pray that you stand and finish strong.

    INTRODUCTION

I am writing this book to you, the chosen of God. Most people think the only chosen people of God are the Jews. But when Christ died on Calvary, we were engrafted into the royal priesthood and became joint heirs with Christ Jesus.

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into His marvelous light: Which in time past were not a people but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. (1 Peter 2:9–10)

The chosen are the remnant, the ones God has set aside for this end time. The chosen will not be pushed back or tossed aside. There is something inside of you that will not let you quit, even when the Enemy told you that you would never be anything, you would never go anywhere, and you were not worth anything. But something on the inside of you told you to go ahead. The time has come for you, the church, to rise out of the ashes. Remember that God always has a remnant—a chosen people God can trust with the end-time anointing. These people will not misuse, miscarry, or abort this anointing and assignment.

If you have selected this book, you must also feel that God has chosen you for this last generation. We are facing some of the most exciting times humankind has ever seen. The earth is truly in travail, awaiting the coming of Christ and the rapture of the church.

Behold ye among the heathen, and regard, and wonder marvelously; for I will work a work in your days, which ye will not believe, though it be told you. (Habakkuk 1:5)

When I was a very young girl, God shared with me that in the fullness of my ministry, Jesus would come back and I shall not see death until He comes. I know God has called and chosen you and me for this last generation. For such a time as this we have been called to the Kingdom. Jesus spoke very clearly to me about the ministry of this last generation. My mission is to get my people ready, and that is through deliverance, healing, salvation, teaching, and preaching the unadulterated Word of God. I have chosen to obey God, for many are called but few are chosen.

So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen. (Matthew 20:16; emphasis added)

I pray this book will be a blessing to you and that the gifts of God are stirred up within you like never before. I pray it will show you that you were called and chosen by God even from your mother’s womb, and you make your calling and election sure. God will manifest into you the move of God that is at hand so you will know your purpose in the body of Christ in these last days. You must know you are that chosen generation.

    CHAPTER 1

    A Chosen Generation

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into the marvelous light. Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. (1 Peter 2:9–10)

It is important that we know who we are; this Scripture reveals to us who we are in our relationships with Christ. We are that chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and a peculiar people. We are the church of God (1 Corinthians 1:2), the believers who have become a chosen generation. In the original Greek, genos eklekton, this phrase means a chosen or elect race. Peter took this term from the Old Testament when God talked to Israel.

My people, my chosen. This people have I formed for myself. (Isaiah 43:20–21)

God has chosen a people unto Himself, a people who would obey His Word and worship Him. Remember that today’s church, the body of Christians, is the spiritual Israel. We in the church have been engrafted into the family of God; we, too, are a chosen people, meaning we must be born again by the spirit.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3)

Jesus answered, verily, verily I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (John 3:5–6)

Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. (1 John 5:1)

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. (John 15:1–5)

Believers become a part of the royal priesthood. Unless people accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, they will have no access to God. We must always go through Jesus.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

This is the reason people have always felt the need to have a priest,
