Prevailing Against Character Assassination - Dr. Tangerine K. Hope

    eternally.

    Introduction

Life is a journey that is filled with mysteries, opportunities, obstacles, pain, pleasure and people. The title of this book emerged during a time that I discovered through a heavenly experience that I had overcome a seven year battle in spiritual warfare and had gotten the victory over fear, pain, rejection and lies.

I can remember when the Spirit of the Lord came upon me in a small voice and whispered your free; the battle is over you have the victory. It’s like I knew at that moment; my time of liberation had come. It was a remarkable feeling that came over me; one that took my breath away and I knew within myself I was delivered and that I had stood the test of time through Faith, Hope, Love and Patience.

After everything that I had gone through, I recall asking God a question; Why is there so much division, lies, hatred and jealousy in the church? It seemed as though it was easier to make friends outside the church than it was on the inside. I struggled with being accepted by people that I thought could mentor, love and guide me through the process of ministry. It was at that time I decided to make a choice to trust God in spite of the negative emotions that I was feeling.

It is so easy to give up and throw in the towel but a determined person will continue to rise above their circumstances regardless of how they feel about the situation. One thing that I have discovered is that a lie will shoot off like a rocket and all of those that have itching ears will hear it and continue to run with it, but the truth will run it down and clean up every lie along the way and serve as the final verdict thus leaving a table prepared for you in the presence of your enemies.

I want this material to do more than just be a good read for you. It is my prayer that you will gain key strategies, insight, inspiration and revelation of truths about yourself and your assignment as you overthrow every plan and tactic of the enemy.

    The Birth and Announcement

As I look back over my life at age twelve; I can remember going to church with my grandmother who has now gone on to be with the Lord. She attended a Baptist Church and I didn’t understand anything except Jesus Christ was the savior and that a woman was not allowed to preach. I would attend Sunday School, Prayer Meetings, Bible Study and Vacation Bible School. I enjoyed being around all of the kids especially during Easter and Christmas which was my favorite times of the year. We would do the Easter Egg Hunt during the Easter Season and for the Christmas Season we would have a Christmas Play and lots of toys and candy. I would always desire to try out for the part of Mary the Mother of Jesus but I didn’t think that I would be good enough. Eventually I got the part and I was successful each year that I participated.

As time passed, I met a woman by the name of Pastor BettyJ. Jones and she were preaching a gospel that I had never heard before. Little did I know that she would later become my Mother- In-Law. I remember her saying that God was speaking to the congregation and she would tell them something that would encourage them and they would agree to it. I later learned that it was called Prophesying which is a manifestation of the Gift of the Spirit. (I Corinthians 12:1-11)KJV

I had gotten saved at age ten; where-in I believed that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins but I had not received the Baptism of the Hoy Spirit. I would never forget being in a church with a lot of adults, walking down a long isle in slow motion going to sit in a big white chair. That was a scary experience for me but I was brave and I felt led to just do it.

I continued to attend Pastor Betty Jones church services and the power of God came upon me and I received the Baptism of The Holy Spirit and little did I know that my life would change forever. I knew my assignment at that time was to serve my leader and I did it with much passion. Whatever I could find my hands to do I did it with great joy and in excellence. As time progressed on, I served as the Youth Pastor followed by the Associate Pastor to Elder Betty Jones, who had mentored me concerning the things of God. I was committed and faithful in the work of God, and I was noticing that everyone in the Church was not happy for me to continue on in the things of God. They would say things like: I was a flunky, I was brown noising, and "who does she think
