Prologue to Prayers

Prayer, the simple act of speaking with God but more importantly listening to God, has changed my life. It could be called the spiritual pause that we all need in our lives. Hearing the voice of God has changed my mountains into miracles and my challenges into victories.

But prayers that break yokes are those that come from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the one that brings the anointing and it is the anointing that breaks yokes (Isaiah 10:27). Just as Jesus mentioned while standing in the midst of religious people ¹⁸ "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free the oppressed,¹⁹ to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor." (Luke 4:18-19, CSB).
