This book is dedicated to all those who are passionately seeking God’s purpose for their lives. The Bible says, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:5

INTRODUCTION

God operates according to divine principles or His will. There is nothing we can do that can cause Him to act contrary to His written plans for us or the world. But there is something we can do to align ourselves with His plans for our lives.

"This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground, but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground. And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living being." Genesis 2:4-7

Before the creation of the world, man was in the mind of God. Man was predestined for good works. So, when God formed and created man, He created him for a purpose. You need to know that it’s the purpose that God had for man that brought about the creation of man. Remember, the Garden of Eden was created before Adam was formed. In fact, all the things that God willed to man were created before man. The book of Genesis 1 and 2 shows us a picture of the creation of the universe. The purpose of man came into being before the formation or creation of man. That means that your purpose was created even before God formed you in your mother's womb. The Almighty is a God of order and purpose. There is nothing He creates without a purpose. We are here on earth to accomplish a purpose that can only be discovered and fulfilled by the help of God’s Spirit. Destiny can only be discovered where there is light, and can only be fulfilled when we are in alignment with the giver, God. Many people are still in search of their true purpose in life, but that doesn’t change the fact that they have a purpose in life. As you read this book, your eyes will be opened to see the inherent plans of God concerning your life and you will be filled with the knowledge on how to fulfill it, in Jesus Christ’s Name!

THE PURPOSE OF MAN

Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth. Genesis 1:26-28

The sole purpose of your life is to be fruitful, to multiply, to subdue, and to dominate. You can’t be in line with these four keys and miss your track. And you can't have these keys unless you work closely with God. Before you were formed in your mother’s womb, God had a plan for your life. So, you're here to keep and cultivate the purpose that you were created for. God created a unique plan for our lives before He formed us. The Bible says God put the man in the Garden of Eden. (See Genesis 2:15).

God is the One that created the garden, purpose, and the man. And He’s the One that took the man and put him where he was destined to be, which is in the garden. One thing is that we can’t be born where we were not destined to be. Why? Because God works all things according to the counsel of His will. (See Ephesians 1:11). However, it’s possible to do what we weren’t destined to do. One of the reasons is that children are given by God, but once a man is born, he becomes responsible for his decisions.

TO BE SET APART AND TO BE CALLED

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations. (Jeremiah 1:5)

Galatians 1:15-17 tells us that,

"But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood, nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and returned again to Damascus."

There’s a set-apart stage and the calling. Everyone is set apart by God, but not all have answered their calling. In your mother’s womb, the Lord sets you apart for good works, but when you are born, He only instructs you on how to go. He can’t force you! God is the one that sets us apart and then calls us. When He calls, it is your decision to answer, not His. There is a difference between being set apart and being called. We are all set apart for the works of God, but not all of us are doing what we’ve been set apart to do. We are separated by the Lord but called to do what we were separated for. God doesn’t need your approval to separate you, but He needs it to instruct you about what you were separated to do. Being called means to be informed and to agree to do what you were separated to do.

The question now is: Have you answered your calling?

It’s only when you answer your call that God begins to reveal what you were set apart to do. God can’t reveal His mind to you until you respond positively to His call. A good example is the story of Samuel. (Read 1 Samuel 3:1-14). Samuel started ministering to the Lord before Eli, the priest when he was a young boy.

Even though he was ministering to the Lord, he had never heard the voice of God or understood his true purpose. The Bible mentions that Samuel was called by the Lord three times and by the help of Eli, he responded to God the fourth time. One thing you need to take special note is that God didn’t say a word to him regarding what he was set apart for until he answered the Lord. The Bible says, Then the Lord came and stood and called as at the previous times, Samuel! Samuel! Then Samuel answered, Speak, for Your servant is listening. The Lord said to Samuel, Behold, I am about to do a thing in Israel at which both ears of everyone who hears it will ring." 1 Samuel 3:10-11

Until you respond to your calling positively, God can’t speak to you any further.

The Power of Destiny is aimed at helping you to see what God is revealing to you as well as to empower you with necessary knowledge to pursue the purpose and plan of God upon your life in accordance to God’s standard. It also aimed at helping you understand what it takes to be fully conformed to the person that God sees you to be. Secondly, it teaches how the destinies of great men and women of faith were fulfilled despite challenges.

If there's anything a person is good and perfect at doing, it's certainly his or her destiny, and pursuing it is the best way to achieve happiness and to be a blessing to society.
