About this ebook

The book, THE MYSTERY OF GOD’S MERCY and JUDGMENT, similar to any other Christian literature, is a wakeup call to mankind, particularly Christians on the abundance of God’s mercy and Judgment to those who take His mercy for granted. It spells out the two seasons in the kingdom of God- season of mercy and season of Judgment. As a matter of fact, no one can escape the two, we all fall into either of the two seasons as a result of what we do or fail to do-Heb9: 27, Gal.6:7-8. The mercy and judgment of God started right from Genesis to Revelation in the Bible, there are several accounts contained in the book as we read, it is a very rich resource for evangelism for everyone. Dear reader, prayerfully read the book and let the Holy Spirit take over your understanding, there are few warfare prayers that concluded the book as well for your blessing and restoration.
Have a wonderful reading time. Stay blessed and rapturable!

    INTRODUCTION

Our God, the merciful Father is a consuming fire and at the same time a merciful God. Judgment and mercy are great attributes of God, the Bible says He’s the greatest Judge who shall judge the earth- Dan. 7:22, Gen.18:25. There is a time and season for mercy and equally a season of judgment – Ecl.3:1. What we do or fail to do here on earth and for God’s kingdom will attract either mercy or judgment.

Everything a man (or woman) labours for here on earth will be by mercy or judgment of God. Despite the mercy of God has been from everlasting to everlasting, the judgment of God has always been meted to those who call for it. The mercy and judgment of God are two great attributes of God, what we see today are either His mercy or His judgment. There are several places in the Bible where judgments were meted out to those who deserved it and there are also several examples of extravagant display of mercy to the sons of men in the Bible days.

Also, to add to this, we practically see people receiving pardon (mercy) or judgment in our society today either from God or from fellow men. What I am trying to lay emphasis here is that as judgment is taking place, mercy is equally taking place. As one receives mercy, another is receiving judgment, our works; deeds define what we get in the end. Mercy is the apex of God's glory the way the overflow of a fountain is the apex of the fountain's fullness. God is free to be merciful because He is full and utterly self-sufficient in Himself.( JOHN PIPER, Let the Nations Be Glad! Right from the very beginning, mercy and judgment have been in existence. Judgment started on earth the very moment man disobeyed God’s instructions – Gen.3:14-19, thereby bringing total hardship and disconnection from divine source. The repercussions of that judgment made man lose His identity, focus, goal, position etc. we shall look into this in full details in subsequent chapters.

Another case is seen in Gen.4 that is the story of Cain and Abel, a very popular Bible story thought in Children’s Sunday school. Remember that Cain and Abel were the sons of Adam and Eve, Cain being the older and Abel being the younger (Gen.4:1-2). With their professions; in today’s language, we could refer to Cain as a farmer, Abel a Shepherd. God respected the offerings of Abel (a very fat offering from his flock-vs 4) but God didn’t accept (respect) Cain’s offerings. This brought about envy between the two brothers which made Cain to murder his brother, Abel.

Remember earlier that I said the judgments a man receives are as a result of his actions or inactions. God pronounced judgment on Cain as a result of his brother (Abel’s) blood crying unto God from the ground (Gen.4:10-11). The judgment Cain received was a pronouncement of curse from the earth, which received his brother’s blood (Gen.4:11), that when thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shall thou be in the earth (Gen.4:12).

It was a very heavy judgment that Cain couldn’t bear it but had to tell God that the punishment was greater than he could bear –Gen.4:13. If we look closely to Vs 14; Cain had to outline all the punishment meted out to him by God, the last of it was that every one who finds him would kill him but in Vs 15; something happened, the Lord had to respond to Cain and said whoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him seven folds. Then a mark was set on Cain, I see that mark as a mark of mercy. Remember, he was to be killed same way he killed his brother but God showed him mercy.

Prayer: let the mark of mercy through the Blood of Jesus wipe away every evil judgment placed upon my life in Jesus name (pray for five minutes before proceeding).

No wonder people labour, toil and moil day and night without rest today with little or nothing to show for it. When you have such experience, run quickly for prayers and deliverances as fast as possible, some families have been placed on generational curses, pronounced unto many generations before them by powers as a result of their deeds. I know of a family who do not cross a particular age before they die, it’s obvious that curses are at full operations in the family. If you happen to notice a similar situation, it may not be untimely death, it could be delays in receiving blessings and favors, marriage, career, finances etc, I urge you to take necessary spiritual steps as soon as possible. Some families, the ladies/young men do not get married or they divorce shortly after marriage, some, it is death of their spouses, some do not even advance in career or business and so many similar ugly experiences like that, I urge you to waste no time any further, but quickly take your destiny into your hands and go for serious prayer and deliverance and put an end to these evil occurrences. No one is exempted from this, the difference is just that all these evils vary from family to family and from person to person and for the fact that you were not present in the time of your fore-fathers, you never knew the evils
