Asha Manoor is a cookbook author, an Engineer, an artist, craft maker and an avid reader as well as writer. She’s passionate about cooking and writes comments regularly on blogs and articles (on topics as diverse as reincarnation, human-maturity, spirituality, word-power, etc) for one of the best newspapers of India, ‘Times of India’. She loves cooking fresh meals for the family and from a very young age, got inspired by her mother, who was a great cook and a greater human being. She has tried her level best to combine her passion of cooking and writing in the form of this cookbook on vegetarian recipes. She lives with her wonderful family of husband, son and daughter in the city of London in Canada.

Before I begin to take you on a joyous journey of exploring mouth-watering recipes from the Indian province of Karnataka, I would like to acknowledge my heartfelt thanks to:
my dear mother, who was a great cook and a greater human being. I have never seen such a noble woman in my life. She is the main inspiration behind my venture into writing this cookbook. I can proudly say that I have learned everything about cooking and its intricacies from my ever-giving and selfless mother. Unfortunately, she left all of us to her final abode last year and I am sure that she’s blessing me up from the heavens in this endeavour of mine.
