FORWARD IS
A DIRECTION WE GO
Let me start at the beginning and make something clear I am not always good about expressing emotions; it has been something that I have always tried to work on. It is a journey I will always be on and that I feel we are all on. I lost my grandmother at a very young age and she left the huge impression on me in the time that I had with her. She instilled the importance of strength from within, to appreciate the beauty in this world and she also made sure that I understood how important kindness is. Her life had been one of chronic pain, something I have also had to endure. It is pain that can tear us down and that we must choose to embrace as part of life to survive and thrive.
I started writing when I was very young I always tended to keep it to myself as I felt it was too private to share. I never kept the typical diary mine was always filled with poetry I just felt it had a more natural flow of thought to it. Most of the writing from when I was really young was so full of hate, self loathing and sorrow that I burnt it in an attempt to free myself from it. This book starts from after the burning of literally hundreds of pages so in a way this book is a phoenix rising from the ashes. It is also my voice and my soul bared for all to see.
This book originally was only be published on my death because, to me it is so very personal. However, after coping with my own struggles I feel that is more important to share. My hope is that perhaps you’ll know you’re not alone. Pain of all kinds forces us to be the most honest with ourselves; it is during this time that we can find strength even when we are weak. Sometimes that strength can be asking for help, and sometimes we can find it within but, know that you are stronger then you realize and you can rise from the ashes too.
