The Road of Moments

My name is Andrew T. Stout, but I like to be called Drew and I am from Bristol, PA.
I started writing poetry at a young age to show how I was feeling. I always enjoyed reading poetry from Edgar Allen Poe. I wrestled and ran track in school. I loved to play sports. After High School graduation in 2002, I joined the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer. My training was in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. My first place of duty was Vilseck, Germany. During my three years in Germany, I was deployed two times and seen numerous other countries. Also during this three year overseas period, I met my wife Claudia. My love for poetry only grew more and more. If I was upset over something and it was out of my control, I would write a poem to calm my nerves. There are times where I can write a poem in five minutes and times where it may take a little time. The poem Scared Little Boy was written during a snow storm and only took me approx. 8 min. I give thanks to my family and most of all, my wife Claudia for inspiring me to write and for pushing me to continue to publish my poems. Thank you all. God bless.

A Soldier’s

Thought of War

When I think of war

I think of defending our great nation

Also helping save

Our freedom and recreation

War causes death, sorrow, and pain

Seeing bombs and missiles coming down like rain

Defending my country

Is my number 1 goal

Even if my life

Has to pay the toll

I’ll give everything

Including strength and pride

I refuse to run

I refuse to hide

I made a good choice

I love what I do

I want you to know

I’ll always remember you

You’ll always be with me

Every single day

It’s for your freedom

I’ll continue to fight and pray

Pray for us soldiers

We need your support

We will continue forward

We will not abort

Red, White and Blue

They are the flying colors

Defending all friends, Family, and others

Stressed

You’re so stressed out

You need to relax more

Or one day you might see

Your family going out the door

We do love you

You just need to care

When you act the way you do

For us it just isn’t fair

You could be a good mother

I seen it a lot

You just go blind

And don´t even give relaxing a shot

You say you love banking

You say it is
