About this ebook

This is my third book and I still have Nicole working with me. She's been wonderful through all of this. I have to say life is better now than ever. I have my first grandchild and he's a trip. I love him that's my little man and he's handsome as ever. Even though I've seen a lot in life I'm still growing right Where I'm from, people don't seem to change. Every day drama and things stay the same. So many have talent and dropout of school and there's so much they can still do. I did too. Newburgh is where I'm from a fast little city with very little love. But there are still some that make it fun and look forward to the love from certain ones and I thank God for them.

Mrs. Joyce Houston

Mrs. Joyce was born and raised in Newburgh New York and is still here. My life is full of different experiences and I don't hate men. They just gave me hell almost every man in my lifetime and because of that I'm strong and flexible. I've loved real deep and sometimes not at all. I've even hated but now I'm at a point of living and loving me and loving me and mines. I listen to my mellow music and write. I hold my head up no matter what. This is how I survive and glad to be alive. By the way, look for Joyce Houston’s other books: 1. Visions 2. Outspoken 3. Journey of a Woman

I’d like to dedicate this book to my kids:

    Quiawon, Stephanie and Lamanda Campbell

My world wouldn’t be the same if I’ve never met you. You are my everything and I love you so much. You make life worth living and there’s no limit to the love I give them.

I’ve heard kids say sticks and stones may

break my bones but names will never

hurt me and they were lying through their

    teeth.

So many times words have deeply hurt me.

Some people might not see how cruel

it can be, until someone else is laughing

    at them in the streets.

Sticks and Stones I’d rather have them

    then some idiot’s reactions

It has always been a stage of whose phase

    cannot be out-weighed

I really don’t care what they say now

but when I was a kid it broke me down

lt could be as simple to be called a dummy

and I’d run straight to my mommy

Just like every other kid did

It’s a part of growing up and the way we lived

    back then

I say I hope things have changed but it’s

always the same just different days

Until you grow up you might not know real love

No matter what I continue to show love even if

    doesn’t see me.

Sticks and Stones may break my bones but names

    can no longer hurt me

    I’m grown.

No sleep last night looking at these four walls

My parents are asleep and I wish you would call

Phone in my room and it’s a private line

I try to close my eyes yet, you stay on my mind

I think it’s time for you to come over

I wanna take a ride in your range rover

I think it’s time for you to come over

    I wanna take a ride
