About this ebook

The fourth book of poetry by H. J. Lee Bennett, III (a.k.a. Lee the Poet), The Terminal promises to pick up where Babylon Songs left off. This is Lee's first book of poetry in over six years, yet he makes no missteps and pulls no punches in this triumphant return. If you are a fan of cerebral yet heartfelt poetry, you need look no further than this author. The Terminal is a multi-faceted book of poetry that is destined to become an instant classic. As stunning as it is intimate, Lee's newest installment captures the personal struggles of acknowledgment and acceptance in the pursuit of (self) love-issues that we all contend with on life's journey. The Terminal is one man's search for inner truth and understanding that beautifully begs the question, which direction are you headed

    FOREWORD

If I were to describe what the book constitutes, what it is similar to, I’d have to say it’s somewhere between Kanye’s 808’s & Heartbreak and Mary’s The Breakthrough. I can’t tell you how to interpret or internalize the material found within these pages, but I can tell you that these works were a series of epiphanies that will enable me to live a fuller life. To quote Dana Elaine Crawford (a fellow ill poet), I’m moving towards acceptance. In a nutshell, that’s what this book is about. It’s about acknowledging the hurt, and the pain, and saying to hell with it.

This is not about blame or finger pointing, or trying to paint myself as a victim and others as villains. Nor is this an instance of capitalizing on hurt. To the contrary, this is a study of my issues, and the effects they had on my life. As with any book I’ve done, it is my sincerest hope that there are common parallels you can draw between my works and your life, and perhaps apply something in a positive manner. For any one that takes the time to read this, I thank you, and am sure you will not only have a better idea of who I am, but who you are as well. Be blessed... be a blessing.

Before we can worry about loving someone else,

we must first learn how to unabashedly love ourselves...

    ~ Lee (the Poet)

Dedicated to those who are learning how to love.

    Enchanted

    Sorceress of lust

You are what dreams are made of

    But do dreams come true

I think I need to be able to look at the woman I love

The way I look at you

A look filled with wonderment and awe

One that captures the instant and everlasting attraction I have to you

(Although it is unrequited and undervalued)

I need to feel that surge

The force that makes this poet forget how to use words

    Only needing to commit actions

I could show you how much I’m in to you

If you just let me get into you

I’m trying to show the beauty of what we could be through you

    You see,

I don’t think you understand how beautiful you are in my minds eye mid-orgasm

    So being the artist,

I’m trying to keep you there long enough to capture you on canvas

And even though I’d love to be your man,

I know that I should never even start with you

Because few women in this world have the potential to break my heart like you
