A Portrait of Life - Juanita Robinson
A Wishful Day
Give us this day
And many more we pray
A day when there is no strife
A day when no one is taking another one’s life
A day we will all sing
And glorify the king
Alone At Last
You go out to lunch; Alone at last
You sip on your tea, then you look up and glance
Your eyes meet together for the very first time
To quickly look away is your first reaction
But that gorgeous set of eyes had your attention
The waiter walks by and slips you a note
Hoping he could join you is all he would hope
He comes and join you, smelling so good
Like you knew he would
He’s complimenting you of your beautiful smile
Which is something you haven’t heard in quite awhile
He softly touches your hand to flatter you even more
Now you’re wondering what he has in store
He wants you to join him later on to get to know you much more
At Last
Having to wish
Wanting to not
Wishing to wish
Deserving to stop
Unable to change the past
A future of blessings fulfilled with lessons
To teach the present of lessons
Learned from the past
Away Too Long
Seems you’ve been away too long
Bet you thought I would not have missed you at all
Rarely are there times when we’re far apart
Because we seemed to be attached right from the
