How To Find A Good Spouse
By Wintrell Pittman
It is with great joy I share with people from all walks of life the God given secret to finding a good spouse. Finding a spouse is easy; but finding a good spouse is very hard. I know it seems like it should be an easy thing to find a good spouse; but as evidenced by the high rate of divorce in America we know that it’s extremely hard to find a good spouse.
Before we can even discuss finding a good spouse, we need to understand and define what marriage is. In today’s society traditional marriage no longer seems to be the norm. Governments across the globe are still struggling to define what constitutes a marriage. Men are marrying men and women and marrying women almost all over the world. According to the bible anything other than the coming together of a single man and a single woman for the purpose of marriage, is not a marriage.
I have to admit that I am from the old school. I was taught from birth up that according to God marriage should be between a man and a woman. I still hold to that belief, even after having been exposed to various cultural interpretations of marriage. I do not believe what I believe, simply because this is what I was taught as a child. When I was in college I was a Sociology major. I have studied other cultures’ and other societies’ ideas about marriage; but I am still convinced that the institution of marriage should be defined as God intended. Most social scientists refer to the Biblical interpretation of marriage as, traditional marriage.
In many cultures traditional marriage does not exist. For instance in some villages in Africa and other third world countries the children are raised by entire villages and not by the natural mother and father alone. There are other cultures that have their own definition of marriage also; but I am a firm believer in the Christian life style and its definition of what a marriage is.
I must confess that I am not perfect; but I am a bible believing Christian. The information I am about to share with you, is in line with the Christian ideas of marriage. I believe in my heart that God revealed this formula for finding a spouse to me in the most miraculous way. As a matter of fact the information came to me in such a supernatural way, I knew then that it was the voice of God instructing me, so that I might instruct others. I sat on this information for over sixteen years. After many years of talking with couples who were struggling in their marital relationship, I found a common denominator. That common denominator actually goes back to how those troubled couples first came together. The beginning of anything is always the most important stage. I don’t care how good a carpenter builds the super structure of a house, if the foundation is not solid than that house will not be structurally sound. Many of the troubled couples had always committed fornication with one another. When fornication enters into a relationship than we automatically tell God we are not listening to You and we do not care what you have to say about our relationship.
I resisted writing about my new found discovery but finally God stirred up my spirit and caused me to write what you are about to read now.I am not trying to convert anyone to my religion or to my God. I am only sharing with you what I believe God has shared with me. It is my prayer that this book will give people of all races, color, and creed and cultures some information which will help them in their pursuit of a suitable mate.
As most adults know there are no guarantees in life, the only two things which are certain in this life are life and death. If you try the information I am about to share with you and it does not work, I refuse to except any blame whatsoever. There are so many factors which go along with finding a good spouse and even more factors involved in keeping a good spouse until an outsider should not and can not be held responsible. Also let me say this, the process I am about to share with you shortly is not the only way to finding your soul mate; but it has worked for me and I believe it will work for those of you who may be searching for a suitable mate just like I was at the time. I would like to share you with this proverb:
* * *
A marriage is a locked house and therefore it is never destroyed from the outside; but if it is destroyed, it will be destroyed from the inside out.

CHAPTER 1
How To Find A Good Spouse
In this world in which marriages seem to be meaningless, there are still some people who desire to marry. Yet some of these people may be intimidated by the fact that many marriages seem to be anything but happy. It is a known fact that most marriages end in divorce. According to the latest statistics found on the website www.divorcemag.com almost 50% of all marriages end in divorce. This figure could be much higher when you take into consideration the number of couples who are married but not happily married and of course those who maybe married; but are separated whether legally or not. This figure could be even higher when you count those couples who are committing adultery. More astonishingly is the fact that in 2005 only 59% of the United States population was married down from 62% in 1990 with 5.5 million unmarried couples living together. These numbers suggest the trend towards marriage seems to be dropping everyday.
One of the most common statements I hear quite often among single people is this, Why do I have to get married; when my mother and my father were never married?
Statistics from www.divorcemag.com gives credence to the fact that a large number of children come from a single parent home in which the parent is a woman. In the year 2002 alone in the United States, 23% of children under 18 years of age were living with mother only and there were only 4% under 18 years of age living with neither parent. Most noticeable is the fact that out of the 11.72 million households run by single parents is the fact that 9.68 million of these households are run by women. A large number of juveniles locked up for violent crimes come from a one parent home in which the head of the house is usually a woman. We should also take note in these startling and grim statistics that fatherless homes account for 63% of youth suicides, 90% of homeless/runaway children, 85% of children with behavior problems, 71% of high school drop outs, 85% of youths in prison, well over 50% of teen mothers. Now I am certainly not
