About The Author
Introduction
I don’t think of myself as an author and did not intend to write a self-help novel. I was challenged by a professor to write about the topic of time. For me, time is a mysterious concept. Sometimes it goes so fast, I can’t account for its passing. Other times, it passes so slow I feel lost and anxious. Years and memories blend and I seem to have difficulty keeping track of exactly what happened when; I’m never sure whether what I remember is fact or fiction.
Working as a manager and a coach taught me that most of us experience difficult as well as joyful times as we journey through life. Many of our stories are very similar.
If this is true, why do so many of us feel as if we are alone and that no one else could ever understand our fears or worries? Why do we pretend to be happy when we are not or simply go along to get along?
I don’t know the answers but I am sharing with you the free thoughts that came to my mind when I was pondering the topic of ‘time.’ I realized that sometimes we remember distant circumstances easier than we do recent events. To tell the truth, I also came to the conclusion that time could be whatever I wanted it to be. It could go fast or slow. I could see it as my friend or my enemy.
Even though I was not able to answer the question, What is time?,
I kept thinking about how our minds work, and how they can hold us hostage if we do not have the tools to master them.
The only thing I really know is that I have a choice; my mind can rule me or I can rule my mind. I choose to rule my mind. You can do that too.
I hope you identify with certain parts of this fictional journey. Please remember that the characters are not real. The story is intended to help each of us claim the life we deserve.
Most chapters outline tools you can use if you face situations similar to those encountered by the clients at the spa. As well, there are questions to ponder and ideas to assist you on your journey. If the tools intrigue you, please try them. Different techniques work for different people.
This book is meant to be your silent partner. I know I am grateful for the many authors who have helped me over the years and I hope this book will serve you well as you find the life you deserve.
Please take advantage of all the help this universe has to offer. You have a right to it.
