Guy currently serves as a Director of Counseling and holds a Master of Theology with an emphasis in Pastoral Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. He holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling. His passion is coaching individuals through humor and the truth of science toward their most joy-filled selves. He uses his Doctorate of Ministry in Counseling and Life Coaching and his expertise as a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor to help others train their brain to find the other side of depression. He has been trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Rapid Resolution Therapy, and is a Certified Trainer of Neuro-Linguistic Programming. ost of us want to achieve and reach our full potential in life. We want to experience God’s best. We desire to obtain our divine purpose. Yet, most people go to their grave with their best stuff still in them. We go to our grave with books unwritten, songs unheard, music unwritten, poetry unspo- ken, love unshared and businesses uncreated.
What I have observed from God’s Word and life is that there is a cycle to obtaining one’s purpose...regardless of race, age, gender, social or financial status or who you know or don’t know. One cannot walk into your purpose without facing your giant. In other words, the road to success, the road to achievement, or better yet, the path to your dream must cross through the River of Fear—whether it is the fear of failure, the fear of success, the fear of hard work, the fear of the unknown, or the fear of obstacles.
It is my firm belief that adversity is the gatekeeper to suc- cess. Success is defined as that ability to carry out the divine design and resources God has placed within you at birth. It is the fulfillment of a purpose. It has nothing to do with money, position or status per se. True success is carrying out your
purpose, and your purpose is something only God has cre- ated you to fulfill. Adversity appears at first to be opposing your ability to experience success. However, it often becomes an instrument for
