Chapter 1:
Why You Are Amazing
When was the last time you told yourself that you were amazing? Was it last week, last month, last year, or maybe not even once in your life?
As humans, we always seek to gain validation from our peers. We wait to see if something that we did recently warranted praise or commendation. Either from our colleagues, our bosses, our friends, or even our families. And when we don’t receive those words that we expect them to, we think that we are unworthy, or that our work just wasn’t good enough. That we are lousy and under serving of praise.
With social media and the power of the internet, these feelings have been amplified. For those of us that look at the likes on our Instagram posts or stories, or the number of followers on Tiktok, Facebook, or Snapchat, we allow ourselves to be subjected to the validation of external forces in order to qualify our self-worth. Whether these are strangers who don’t know you at all, or whoever they might be, their approval seems to matter the most to us rather than the approval we can choose to give ourselves.
We believe that we always have to up our game in order to seek happiness. Everytime we don’t get the likes, we let it affect our mood for the rest of the day or even the week.
Have you ever thought of how wonderful it is if you are your best cheerleader in life? If the only validation you needed to seek was from yourself? That you were proud of the work you put out there, even if the world disagrees, because you know that you have put your heart and soul into the project and that there was nothing else you could have done better in that moment when you were producing that thing?
I am here to tell you that you are amazing because only you have the power to choose to love yourself unconditionally. You have the power to tell yourself that you are amazing. and that you have the power to look into yourself and be proud of how far you came in life. To be amazed by the things that you have done up until this point, things that other people might not have seen, acknowledged, or given credit to you for. But you can give that credit to yourself. To pat yourself on the back and say I did a great job
.
I believe that we all have this ability to look inwards. That we don’t need external forces to tell us we are amazing because deep down, we already know we are.
If nobody else in the world loves you, know that I do. I love your courage, your bravery, your resilience, your heart, your soul, your commitment, and your dedication to live out your best life on this earth. Tell yourself each and everyday that you deserve to be loved, and that you are loved.
Go through life fiercely knowing that you don’t need to seek happiness, validations, and approval from others. That you have it inside you all along and that is all you need to keep going.
Chapter 2:
Just Try
Today we’re going to talk about a very simple yet important topic. And my goal for this video to see if i can challenge to get you to try something new every day if you feel that your life isn’t exciting or have become somewhat stale.
Have you ever come across the saying you never know until you try
? This explorative mindset has allowed us as children to experience new things, new food, new activities, make you new friends, and to be curious about everything around us. With this curiosity comes a deeper understanding of our likes and dislikes. And we spend more time on the activity that we really and discard those that we don’t favour. Some of these likes can turn into solid passions and even careers that we dedicate our lives to, while some other activities we would soon outgrow and move on from.
Regardless of whether we do stick on to these new interests or not is not of importance. What is however, is that we gave ourselves a chance to have a taste of whether something we have not done before could potentially fit into our lives. We gave it an opportunity to be assimilated into our daily routine and activities. And we find new hobbies left and right that make up our identity. Even in school we are encouraged to try new CCAs, new sports, new musical groups to find something we might like besides studying all day to become a more holistic individual. And even in higher education, universities, we are encouraged to explore different subjects if you are in the field of humanities before you settle down on a major that really speaks to you. And many a times we find that we didn’t know we liked something until we really gave it a shot.
However as we grow older, which I’m sure many of you experience as well, our sense of curiosity for the things around us starts to diminish with accelerating pace every year. There is no one around us encouraging us to keep up that level of
