Description

Talking about money is taboo, especially inside the Christian circle sometimes. Today we’re going to speak life over you and talk about what the Bible & Jesus teaches about money, being a steward of what God gave you. We hope our words can help you gain insight and clear your mind from any guilt, distractions or misunderstandings about God’s plan for personal finances.
In this particular podcast, we’re talking about these three scriptures:

1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows.

The Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30). To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away.

Matthew 6:24: No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.

We’ll break these scriptures down and see how they can relate to our circumstances.
One key point is that the verse from Timothy tells us that the LOVE of money is the root of evil, not money itself. Money itself is a tool. You shouldn’t be motivated or craving money. Money shouldn’t distract you from your calling or your walk with God.
However! Money can absolutely be used to further God’s kingdom & His work through you.
Also, being wealthy does not equate to loving money. It can simply mean that the wealthy person is a good steward and has wisely used the resources God gave them.
The Parable of the Talents is one of the most popular in the Bible. Here are some key takeaways:

God celebrates with you when you win with money

Do NOT have a scarcity mindset or be fearful about money

Don’t bury your head in the sand when it comes to your finances or your money like the third servant did (well, he buried the money, but work with us).

You should be involved with your money and actively using it to make more money.

Take charge of your finances, don’t be passive.

DOn’t miss out on bigger blessings and better opportunities by not being faithful with what you’ve got now.

Be a good steward so you can get the ultimate goal: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

Finally, let’s talk about whether money is your master.
Are you serving money but you don’t even know it? If your decisions, moods, time or energy is controlled by money, then you might need to make some changes. Many times money can be our master but we aren’t even aware. We think we’re safe if we’re not being greedy or materialistic. But you can still be enslaved by money. How can you be sure you’re not serving money?

Ask yourself if you value anything more than the Lord.

Check yourself when an opportunity presents itself: Do I think about the money first? Or God’s will?

Get out of debt-the borrow is SLAVE to the lender.

Are you in a job that you hate, that makes you live a small life because you’re not in control of your finances?

Be in charge of your finances & money. That way you’re free and clear to serve God without any money distractions. (Don’t let your money be in charge of you.)

Submit your budget to God and ask for guidance.
