Why Am I Stuck? - Ehryck F. Gilmore

    Introduction

When I first decided to write WAIS?, I wanted to make sure this book was about Getting Unstuck. My second book, Act As If: Think it Into Existence, is publishing by an imprint of Hay House, and it expanded on this concept. But first, I needed people to understand why they weren’t getting ahead in life.

So I decided to write "WAIS?" from a new, perspective to divulge this secret phenomenon which is Conscious Personal Responsibility (CPR). Taking CPR for your actions and the thoughts you think. Moreover,, throughout WAIS? I will examine some of the unfocused, ill-defined, unclear, thoughts that have gotten you Stuck. I have added the steps needed to help show you how to Get Unstuck. After traveling around this great country non-stop for the last 4 years, I decided to incorporate some of the stories I've heard from people who were Stuck, so others could see that they were not alone in their journey. Therefore if you are a neophyte of metaphysics or esoterically enlightened you can feel good reading the message again and again. Likewise, if you are seeking a straightforward, clarification to obstacles in your life, you can read this book and walk away with some new found a-ha moments, coupled with ideas on how to implement your goals, desires or dreams.

Inside WAIS? You will find reliable suggestions on how to get unstuck, for...

    The Highest Good of All

It is with tenacious optimism that WAIS? provides you with the authentic knowledge 0n how to attain your dreams, desires and goals through CPR and TheUniversal laws

Throughout the pages of WAIS? I will also encour-

age you to delve deep into your heart, to pull the unresolved issues from under your bed; issues, dreams, desires and goals you have conveniently stored away. I will be asking you specifically to be truly honest about the reasons why you are getting the same results over and over again and, why you haven’t been able to move forward in life.

At the end of some chapters, under the heading of Journal, there will be a series of questions (some repeated again and again to rationally challenge your current thoughts process). While journaling, you will be able to document your achievements. Reflecting on the steps, you eill make advancements towards your goals and improving your life. However, I suggest that you work with a group of trusted friends, or a mastermind group; in this way you will have a partner to monitor your progress and to hold you accountable. In addition to journaling there will be a series of short case studies, which provide a glimpse into

the lives of my clients who applied some of my suggestions, as they worked on becoming Unstuck.

Clients like Wendy, who is an executive manager in the criminal justice system. Wendy had allowed, what I call the As soon as I syndrome stand in her way of living in the Now.

In other words all of Wendy's happiness was tied to, and based on, some circumstance happening before she could take the next step. Like "as soon I (get a new car, buy a new home, secure that next promotion),

Wendy confessed to me that the judicial system had taken it's toll on her. Most times she felt as though all the pretty balloons filled with her desires and dreams had the helium sucked from them by the people she tried to help. Wendy, is like so many others, exceptional in her career but not in her personal life.

She had good intentions; but was unmotivated and without direction. As I listened to her situation, I finally told her, you need a script (aka Goal).

Maybe a small one-first, to feel an immediate accom- plishment, then on to a bigger one which takes more steps. Following a script with an clear outcome that parallels her goals and dreams gives her the tools to take action to bring her closer to her desire.

Shawn, a struggling actor, wanting desperately to make it big in Hollywood. But his constant thoughts about mak- ing the right decision, have kept him from making good choices. He says when two options arise, he seems to always end up hurting himself.

My advice to Shawn was to first take a deep breath, step back from his choices, and then reevaluate them. Second, stay focused on his desired outcome. Third, stay on point and trust his gut feelings. These simple tech- niques were what was missing from his decision making process.

These are just two stories which ememplify explor- ing how people from difirent walks of life react to their current situation. Whether you are a high-powered execu- tive, deciding to make a move toward starting your own business; a housewife who has given up your dreams and desires to care giver to your family; or, someone who is in the second or third chapter of your life. You will find inspiration in these stories.

What's more you can explore how each person in these stories react to their challenges, and apply the simple advice

given for reaching their goal and desires.

Ergo, slipping and getting stuck in no way prevents you from finding a solution. The dic-

tionary says slipping means: mishap, an accident or falling down, but also smooth and easy.

These stories show you one can slip and get

stuck, but you can recover easily.

By the same token, there will be times when your mind is idle and negative thoughts creep in making you feel like you are not getting closer to your dream, desire or goal. This is when you must stay on your

path and reject the anti-magical; negative thoughts of what if or this is just how it is. Accepting these self- sabotaging thoughts is easy because you never thought you were worthy. In other words you must go beyond these learned negative reactions and stop questioning yourself (in this case "what if something bad happens, what if I can't do it, what if they don't like me? What if the steps in WAIS? don't work?

Again it is fundamental that you are conscious of the fact that you create your life! Yes, even the mental and physical environment in which you now live. How? Through the positive or negative words you use and think. For this reason, listen to the words you use to describe your world. Ask yourself, do these words match what you are

wanting? Are these words creating positive experiences? Words and thougths create vibrations that resonate back to you, in mental and physical form.

This is how your dreams, desires and goals come into frui- tion. Think of your words as a boomerang. What is thrown (spoken or continuously thought) is returned.

In essence the Universe is deliberately assisting you in creating your life. By the by you’re not here just to be a passenger in life. At some point in your life, you must

start making Conscious Personal Responsible Choices and consciously take driver's seat! What will you do when you take the wheel?

    Why Am I Stuck?

Why am I stuck? The question begs an answer. If you ask people What is it that you want out of life? You will find a surprising number can’t answer. Even a few moments later they are still staring blankly ahead, their eyes wide with fright—the classic deer caught in the headlights look. One of the reasons they are unable to give you an honest answer, could be that they are stuck in the land of OZ, or some other fairy-tale land, searching for the road to clarity?

    Reasons For Being Stuck

There are several reasons for being stuck. One reason conceivable is not having a clear vision. As a result of not having a vision, you can't have a clear focus. Maybe you’re afraid of what will happen if you fail. If you falter, where can you place that blame? To put it bluntly condemnation, guilt, criticism and blame plays such a huge role in our daily lives. People do not like to place blame on their own shoulders. Or to take CPR for their actions.

Looking in the mirror for answers many times may cause more anguish. Because all you will see is you and no one else. That is the point, All questions begin and end with you; All answers begin and end with you.

Maybe you’re saying to yourself, What does this have to do with me? Or are you saying, "I’m not stuck!, I’m just a little off track. As soon as I take care of these outstanding business matters, I’m going to start working on my project again. The bottom line is... that people will give all kinds of reasons or shall we say—excuses for not taking CPR. Then there's the number one excuse, about how you don’t have enough time. Or the As Soon As I excuses (i.e. I need money, I have to wait until the kids are grown).

When I refer to the word stuck it doesn’t mean you have not any made progress toward your goals. It just means you are not clearly focused and got sidetracked, disoriented and can’t figure out how to pivot. When Stuck, you can't pivot you're frozen mentally and can't reenergize yourself.

    Suggestion:

First, ask yourself What Do I Want? Be specific and totally honest with yourself. Then ask yourself. what will this dream, desire or goal do for you when it does come to fruition? These specific penetrating questions will help jump start you, by separating what is a desire from a wish. Of course, there maybe naysayers who disagree with this assertion but when you are not focused you will settle for anything that may appear similar to your desire. As a result you can become disillusioned about your goals.

To put it another way, if you accept the illusion as your desired goal, you will subconsciously fight with yourself. Leaving you a frustrated wisher and desire-less. Consider rebooting your project by pulling out your old notes, journal or goal notes; clarify them, and be very specific about the outcome. Next, ask yourself is there someone who you admire that has done a similar project that you
