About this ebook
What is the definition of a well-dressed man? The answer may vary based on culture, age, or socioeconomic status. The certainty of the definition is based on the notion that the man being described as well-dressed has the self-awareness to be concerned about his personal style. He is also aware that his identity consists of two parts. One part is how he views himself in the world, and the other is how the world views him. Whichever part comes into the consciousness first can have a profound impact on how an individual lives their life. A well-dressed man projects his self-image through his attire—he is not interested in leaving this part of his identity to chance.
Some men frown upon being too well dressed or well groomed. Perhaps they associate such concerns with appearance as feminine, thereby threatening their masculinity. A well-dressed man does not think this way. He knows that his gender is not defined by the clothing that covers his biologically identified male body. He is aware that being well-dressed simply compliments the person. At what age does such awareness begin? It may have occurred later in life for some, but the multitude of well-dressed individuals will state that they have always been stylish. Perhaps some of these individuals had parents or guardians who were described as well-dressed and dressed them as such when they were children. Some young people may have also been inspired by the style of their role models who had achieved a level of status in the world. Other children may have simply been influenced by an individual in their social circle who simply exuded the often alluded word "cool". The main character of this book, High Waist Slim, is this type of individual.
In the book, High Waist Slim is a confident young person who inspires the children around him to be their personal best. His self-love ideology is contagious and the children who read the book will begin to understand the importance of being impeccable in their appearance and with their word. High Waist Slim is a much welcomed role model for young people in a world where many media promoted role models have publicly disavowed their influence on children to absolve them from the responsibility of being influencers.
