About this ebook

'D.R.E.A.M.C.H.A.S.E.R: 8 Ways to Make it Happen'. Its aimed primarily at young people and uses examples of contemporary popular culture to hopefully inspire and motivate. I make references to song lyrics, movie quotes, biographical references from celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Beyonce, Rihanna, Sylvester Stallone, Michael Jordan, J.K Rowling, Lady Gaga and Jay-Z to name but a few, in an attempt to inspire, awaken, empower and help people take action towards the realisation of their dreams. I decided to use examples of celebrities who have experienced real setbacks in their personal and professional lives but went on to achieve an extraordinary amount of success. These
celebrities have been specifically chosen to relate to a youth audience and the book is written in a language and in a context that should also appeal to this audience. I want the youth of today to aspire to greatness but also see the truth behind greatness...that many of the people we view as 'the greats' have had enormous setbacks which could easily have made them give up on their dreams but their self belief, strong work ethic, determination and desire to achieve them helped them overcome these obstacles. Actor and mega star, Will Smith once saidpeople view greatness as this unachievable thing reading D.R.E.A.M.C.H.A.S.E.R will help people realise that greatness is achievable and will also hopefully help them kick start their Dream Chase

I have many people to thank for their help and inspiration in writing ‘Dreamchaser: 8 Ways to Make It Happen’. Let me begin by expressing my deepest gratitude and appreciation to my Mom and Dad for setting high standards for me, allowing me to DREAM and for working really hard to get themselves out of poverty to ensure that I had the best start in life. You taught me some amazing life lessons about Dream chasing and success and I love you for it.

To my siblings Regina, Kate, Edwin, Beatrice and Norma for simply being wonderful peeps. More importantly to my best friend Stephen Brian Webb for helping me amend typos, for being patient, cooperative, caring and most of all inspiring.

Finally, I would also like to thank Audrey Hepburn, Andy Warhol and Marilyn Monroe; dead but very much alive in my heart. You have all inspired me creatively and I thank you. Last but not least I would like to thank God for inspiring and instilling in me the urge and need to be a positive force for my generation. I’ll use it to spread positivity and help all I can to achieve their goals and dreams.

Don’t ask yourself what will this year bring for me? 2013, 2019, 2025, 2035… is just time that has no personality, passion, brain or intellect. You as the Dream Chaser, owner of that brain, goal setter and action maker of that body have the responsibility of making things happen. Now the question is, what actions will you take to achieve your dreams this year?

Today is one of the most important days in your life. Why? Because you have began to read DREAM CHASER. The simple fact that you picked out this book means you would like to see change within yourself and achieve your Dreams which is an achievement in itself.

This book was born shortly after the riots in England of August 2011 when young people across the country were involved in widespread arson and looting. It suddenly dawned on me that the media were representing a whole generation of young people as without hope, morals, work ethics, ambitions or a future. In fact, what happened was that young people became angry about their lack of opportunities, about the lack of jobs and watching their dreams go by the wayside.

I took it upon myself to write a self-help book aimed at young people, both male and female and from all walks of life. I wanted to remind everyone that some of the most successful people didn’t come from much and often came from nothing. What they managed to do was build success from their "THOUGHTS" and ACTIONS and that the biggest fashion houses, the biggest stars and entrepreneurs built their fortunes through their own self belief and determination. In effect, we are all capable of achieving greatness whatever our age, backgrounds, race, education and skill sets through a change of mindset.
