“The pressure of patriarchy is so overwhelming, and both women and men, knowingly or unknowingly, become party to it. The rules, which have been laid centuries ago, continue to dictate women, right from their youth to old age. And they generally come in the guise of protection. But the more women succumb to these norms, the more unsafe the society will become. Feeling more liberated now in my 50s, I accept that, at times, I did feel intimidated and would give in to the pressures, too, but that cloud of heaviness is now vanishing, and my relationship with my body has changed
