Ridiculously Old and Getting Better

About this ebook
It's a common belief that older adults are generally tired, grumpy and unhappy. Movies, TV commercials and late night punch lines often assume older adults are hapless buffoons with nothing better to do than yell "Get off of my lawn!" They like to complain endlessly about their physical ailments to anyone who will listen. This is largely a myth.

CHAPTER 1
Am I the Person I Was Meant to Be?
As soon as you feel too old to do a thing, do it.
MARGARET DELAND
How much of what we do and how we live is determined by what we are told will make us happy? When we were children our parents and teachers gave us the guidelines that structured our lives. We watched how our parents lived and we either thought, Why can’t I be like that,
or, I will never live an empty, materialistic life like that!

If you spend your time trying to be one of the guys
because your father loves macho sports and goes bowling with his gang, you never have much time to explore the unique sensitivities you have that might take you in a new and exciting
