Men Hurt Too!

About this ebook
On a whole, society expects men to live as leaders, the ones respectfully etching out paths for their families to follow. Demands bombard them daily, and as problem solvers, they must find solutions. How can they successfully serve as protectors, guides and leaders of their families when they have intense ailments in their souls they are encouraged to bury? They hear instructions such as "take it like a man," "don't be a sissy" and "never let them see you cry." These instructions sound valiant; however, they build fortified walls within men.
In this book, the author takes an inside look at men. Men from different walks of life share their thoughts and feelings about topics that are taboo. They express their opinions about addictions, fear of commitment, infidelity, homosexuality, incarcerations, physical and mental abuse, molestation, anger, etc. They realize the first step in living free is admitting the problem. The second step is discussing it.
Men, this book is from you, spoken about you, in order to help you. Give yourself permission to heal. Explore the pages of Men Hurt Too!

Introduction
––––––––
I decided to write this book because information about hurting men is very limited. Women readily talk about their hurts and pains; however, most men hide their feelings (especially if they have been hurt emotionally). Society instructs them to take it like a man,
don’t be a sissy,
and don’t ever let them see you cry.
These instructions sound valiant; however, they build walls within men that are rarely broken down. It became obvious to me (in various counseling sessions and encounters with men) that men hurt too. Because of this discovery, I decided to interview men from different walks of life. I wanted to tell their stories.
My desire is that this book will help every hurting man. No, you may not find your exact experience in this book, but you may identify similar feelings, spoken from the lips of other men who have experienced hurt or are currently hurting. I suggest you put your seatbelts on men! We’re getting ready to explore: Men Hurt Too!
And ladies, before the men take this journey, make yourselves available for the man in your life (whether he’s your husband, son, father, uncle, boyfriend, etc.) if he desires to talk about his feelings regarding this book. Don’t lecture, try to solve his problems or try to identify with his pain. Just listen. And yes, get this book for every man you know (both young and old). It will be money well spent.
Suggestions For The Use Of This Book

To identify areas in which you may need (or desire) personal counseling (areas that bring up strong feelings may be areas that need to be processed further in some type counseling format).
To identify personal areas for change (through journaling, accountability to others, goal setting, etc.)
